So the girlfriend's nephews are up from Florida visiting for the summer and are entertaining them for the weekend, picked them up earlier today and keeping them over night. (15 and 13? I think), and we also invited her younger half brother (turning 15 tomorrow) to stay the night as well.
So our original plan to go to the lake fell through thanks to a storm (drove all the way out there just to turn right around hahaha oh well) well as soon as we got home my GF suggested taking the boys to the range and they got super super excited. (Their mom and step dad are very pro gun, even bought both of them their first 9mm handguns a few xmas's ago) but her half brother has never shot a gun in his life he joined us I think initially to not look scared but can tell he may not have felt all that comfortable.
Well I started her brother off with a .22lr with just one round he seemed meh about it but we then worked up to 5 rounds in the magazine and by the end of the day he had gone through more .22lr ammo than the rest of us put together.
Here is the youngest nephew with his first shot of the day (.22lr) I'd say we were about 30 yards away and I refused to take the tag off the glasses not sure why but he finally did before the end of the day.
Her younger brother has dialing learning sights and everything. But even he was able to squeak in a bull
He really preferred shooting while kneeling lol but he started really enjoying it
I also took my new AR pistol out just for the giggles (I didnt get a magazine yet so we just shot it single shot even her brother shot it once. But we didnt shoot it much because well none of them seemed interested in the AR)
And the nephews kept fighting over shooting the K31 and even her brother wanted to give it a try but he still really enjoyed and preferred the .22
Youngest
The half brother (we will be working on his form he got better later in the day working with the .22)
And the older nephew
And we put a mag through the G17 each
