Deal on fire resistant gun safe.

I was going to buy a 14 gun metal gun cabinet for $150 at Walmart. Today I found a Rollback deal on the 14 gun fire resistant gun safe for $175 plus tax. Free delivery.

The same safe is selling elsewhere for hundreds more.

It's good enough for my purposes. I know it's not top of the line.

I had that same safe as second in bedroom. Think I paid over $400 several years ago. It's ok as a safe goes. Not much room for many long guns. Only small shelf for maybe a couple pistols. I was always concerned about locking mechanism felt like it could fail at any time but never did. I'd say good for the price but better options out there. Bolt it to floor and wall if you go for it.

30 minutes at 1400 degrees. Which is better than the simple metal cabinet version I would have bought instead.

Possibly but not through the hinges... there are locker bolts on inside four sides better going right through side lol...

With a 3 lb. hammer and a good, sharp cold chisel you can peel the side of most any safe open like a can of sardines. Although, as Gonzobird mentioned, a Sawz-all is much faster and easier.

My next one will probably be the lockable metal gun cabinet version. Which is what I was originally going to buy. Then I saw this for only $25 more. What a pain it was getting this into the house and in place. The main purpose is to keep grandchildren away. Although I shoot air rifles and pistols with them and constantly teach them gun safety.
