DEFENSIVE CARBINE – SATURDAY MARCH 7, 2020 – Blue Mountain Sportsman’s Center – 183 Watch Hill Rd, Corlandt Manor, NY Police Ranges.

(all deposits are transferable but not refundable)
Balance of $100 due on the day of the class – CASH ONLY!

This course is designed to introduce the intermediate shooter to defensive carbine/rifle work.

PREREQUISITE:
All students must understand and be able to successfully maintain all shooting safety fundamentals. Students should be familiar with the working operations of their carbine/rifle.

Students with a valid NYS pistol permit may also bring their handguns and handgun gear. (optional)

CLASS STARTS AT 9:30AM – PLEASE BE THERE NO LATER THAN 9:15AM FOR SET UP AND SAFETY BRIEFING.

COURSE BREAKDOWN:
– Range orientation
– Firearms safety
– Warm-up drills
– Ready positions
– Accuracy drills
– Engaging multiple targets
– Close quarters engagements
– Reloading techniques and malfunction clearance drills
– Search & scan / situational awareness
– Cover & concealment
– Various shooting positions

EQUIPMENT LIST:
-Quality functional long gun/carbine (AR-15 / M4 / AK-47 style) WITH ONE OR TWO POINT SLING.
– Minimum of 500 rounds of brass cased rifle ammunition (no steel cased ammunition)
– Minimum 4 magazines minimum for your carbine or rifle.
-Magazine or loading device pouches / magazine carrier, etc.
-Ammunition dump pouch (optional)
-Sturdy belt at least 1.5” wide
-Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning with good ankle support.
-Clothing suitable for training in any weather – long pants – long sleeve shirt, hoodie or jacket for cold weather.
-Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
-Earmuffs and earplugs
-Knee pads and elbow pads (optional but recommended)
-notepad and pen for taking notes
-A humble, willing to learn attitude

This course is limited to 14 students only. First 14 to buy tickets will attend.
Students are encouraged to bring their own lunch and beverages.
Private and group shooting lessons available – Rifle – Pistol – Shotgun
Women’s classes available.
New York (resident) pistol permit classes, Utah, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Florida, Virginia, Arizona, Massachusetts non-resident carry permit classes available.

Thinking of signing up for this weekend. What type of magazine holders/pouches do you need? I’m using 10/30 mags. Any advice where I can pick them up locally? Also do I need a sling?

I use my back pockets or cargo pockets if Im wearing those type of pants. I tend to shy away from the battle rattle dressup. What do you do for a living? What are you trying to get out of the class? What will you REALLY use the rifle for? Dress according to how you live your life.
Only real exception I make is occasionally I'll run the IC-13 INVRT,

because it normally sits around the passenger headrest in my truck, as it holds a full trauma kit on it.
But I'd say dress how you would normally dress should the event ever arise that you need the rifle in real life.

....... OR....... come in full battle get up.

Whoops sorry missed this..... Sling is optional, but highly recommended. We will go over some use of the sling for accuracy. If you have QD attachments I have an extra sling I can bring, just let me know by Friday.
