Every time I look at the forecast for Saturday it gets COLDER. Maybe if I refresh enough times it will reset and start at 90 degrees again?

Well I primed and flared 400 rounds. Lets see if I can get them assembled by then.
Well I did it. Loaded up 400 40 S&W. I ran out of 180gr X-treme RNFP bullets after after 100 or so. Then switch to 180gr RNFP Gallant coated bullets. I used the same powder charge, because it was a similar bullet profile, same weight and just below the mid range of charge weight. What I didn't like is I had to mess with all my dies, because the plunk test failed and the COAL wasn't where I wanted it. So after getting everything where I wanted it I loaded up the remainder of primed brass. I hate loading up that many rounds when they aren't proven yet. I'm a little worried about leading because I saw some shaving. With that said if I do notice any leading I will just load every mag up with a factory FMJ to clear the barrel out every mag.
I have 250 rnds of 40 for you, you still want it?

Had a great time, I take total blame for the COLD (and windy) weather. I'm going to be sore tomorrow just from the shivering.. Also sidenote: when the Big Igloo hits, have those little hand warmers around, they really helped, thanks to whoever offered them.

I wanted to wait until I got behind a computer to write up a review, so here we go....
I wanted to start off saying thanks to Ben it was an amazing class and you will be seeing me again.
The weather for the class was windy and cold. Thanks @MikeyCNY for jinxing it. It was the first time this year I got chilled to the bone, hopefully that helps next weekend for deer season.
I have been in corporate America for WAY too long. Bens use of the word fuck was almost on the savant level. This really came to shine during the safety brief. Instead of tuning out, because it's just another safety brief it was engaging an funny. Another hats off to Ben was his ability to remember peoples names and engage them as a group and or individual. Don't think because your in a class with other people that you wont be getting some personalized instruction.
The class started off with the basics. Considering I never had any formal pistol instruction, I was very open to. The grip he teaches I had never seen before, not even online. After shooting a few rounds with it I have to say I'm a believer. Now I need to break the old habits and work on solidifying the new fundamentals. This shouldn't be too hard considering it's been almost 2 years since I've done any meaningful pistol shooting.
After the fundamentals we progressed up to accuracy and timing drills (again I have a lot to work on). These I had seen similar versions online, but you don't get the full effect of them until you have an instructor teaching them in person. These drills can get monotonous, but not with Ben. I'm trying not to give away too much so that people taking the class in the future don't know what's coming.
Next up was the bane of must pistol shooters....... single handed shooting. I thought this sections was masterfully covered. All the options were explored and discussed. Then we proceeded to test out all the different options. I definitely want to cover this on my own some more before I start working one of the grips styles into my practice regiment.
We progressed onto moving drills, which was welcome considering it was cold! Again here's another fundamental change I will be incorporating into my shooting. Again trying not to give away the class secrets. We did some lateral movement and some forward and rear movement drills. These were good and I need to do more of them on my own.
I've never really been a good pistol shot. Between that and almost two years hiatus from pistol shooting my hits on paper were sub par at best. I did at the end go 5 or 6 shots in a row at 25yds head shots which shocked me. This has reinvigorated my desire to do more shooting and plan on at minimum making it out once a month to go shooting.
@MikeyCNY I know we didn't get much time to talk but we have to get to together and do some shooting this next year.
Equipment break down.
My Gucci Glock 22 preformed well. I want to start getting away from running the 40 S&W and using the 9mm conversion barrel. I was digging the SIG that Ben was rocking, as well as some others in the class. I see one of those in my future.
My G-Code war belt setup worked well. Considering once we geared up we stayed geared, the hook and loop inner outer belt system was pointless. So I might buy one of these Inner Belt Pad.
I only have 4 magazines for that gun both in 9mm & 40 S&W. That will be remedied in the near future. I also think I will be adding a couple more G-Code mag holders to my belt.
For clothing I'm glad I layered up at the house. I ended up ditching to hoodie early on and moving to the bulky Carhart jacket. This helped keep the cold out very well, but the added bulk was new to me when shooting pistols. Not a terribly hard thing to overcome, but was definitely noticeable.
Ammo..... well my known proven rounds preformed well. Including the ones I made last week. The ones I mad using new bullets, I was unsure of how they were preforming. So I switched to the factory ammo Ben brought me and that was enough to make it to the end of the class (big thanks again Ben).

Honestly the grip that been in teaching is something I had never seen before and I think it's a game changer.

Typical weather for Burlington Flats in November. If not cold, it will always be windy. Ben did an excellent job teaching the class. Jeff and I have been trying to lure him to the Central Leatherstocking Region for a couple of years; glad he finally made it! Looking forward to more classes in the future.
Keep me in the loop I would like to train there again.
