Nearly three dozen after-market gun accessories have been taken off the streets of Delaware before owning them becomes illegal.
The News Journal reports that Delaware State Police have spent $3,115 purchasing 31 bump stocks and one trigger crank at a pair of buyback events in November.
House Majority Leader Valerie Longhurst introduced legislation to outlaw devices used to convert semi-automatic rifles into fully automatic weapons after a gunman used bump stocks to kill 58 people at a Las Vegas concert last year. A Republican-backed provision created the buyback program, which has a $15,000 cap.
Police agreed to take 120 "crudely crafted" wooden devices from one man, but refused to pay for the homemade devices.
