NICS does not just look at federal, it also looks at state disqualifiers.
A friend of mine got denied because of a "serious offense" which would pass the federal level check but failed the state level.
It was a class A misdemeanor for haveing a switchblade in his pocket 30 years prior to this denial.
He got a Certificate Of Relief and got his gun.
It took almost 3 years to fix it.

I got delayed twice years back, Both times were right before and after a Holiday weekend! That was in the early 2000's.

Obviously i had a nics ran on those. And the last round of bs im talking about was what he did i wanna say last month with expansion of prohibited persons and adding people with like domestic charges to that list. Wondering if maybe theyre just doing more detailed nics now. Idk im not an expert thats why i asked.

NICS is federal. What Cuomo wants added to it has no bearing on how NICS works.

Just got delayed for the first time. I don't buy many guns but the 8 times I did buy one and the 2 times I had a PICS for a Pennsylvania CCW, I've never had a problem. Ever. It's always been like 10 minutes or less. My name isn't common.

Holiday weekend, was delayed twice before both times holiday week. I think they are short staffed?
