Delayed (NICS)

So just did an amendment, only took 2 weeks in Orange County.

went to pick up my pistol, and normally I always go into researching, happens everytime I buy something, NICs always says researching. Normally it takes 20-30 min, but this time after an hour, it came back delayed.

anyone know how I can stop myself from going into researching, and should I be concerned with this delay status?

That’s what I figured, since it was done 5pm on the Friday of a holiday weekend.

Do you give them your ss number. That might help. Especially if you have a common name

I applied for a UPIN and they sent all my paperwork back saying I didn't need it. Delayed less by NOT giving SSN

SS# is for employment and related to my govt retirement account and taxes. Period! I usually don't give it out otherwise!

Use mine every time as well, but I have a UPIN so they already have a plethora of info on/about me. SS # isn’t going to give them anymore data on me that they don’t already have

Does he keep it next to the letter from the NYSP regarding the SAFE act?

If they have your drivers license they have your ss#. Basically they have all your info. no matter what you do.

Not giving the gubment your SSN for identity protection and costing yourself a delay has always seemed like not providing your ATM machine with your pin because they don't need to know all that.

Delay may have been because ATF was busy blowing up a LA Cali neighborhood over fireworks they found ..
