Not enough window to make it really work. I guess if your a really good shot it wouldn't be an issue. I can tell you after running a dot, I want a bigger window not smaller.

Both models have a suggested retail price of $519, which puts it in the middle of the pack for hard-use red dot optics for handguns. But when you consider it works on guns without any modifications to the slide, that makes the whole package more affordable.​

Ummm....not really. You can get a slide milled for $100 (w/o refinishing) and then add a Holosun 507k or 507c for $310. So, for around $410 plus some shipping, you can have any popular slide modified to accommodate a full-sized (compact) red dot. The Holosun (as an example) offers many more features than the Leupold item...and with a much larger window.

If you really want to go on-the-cheap (to try out an optic), then just use a dovetail mounting plate with an optic that you might like to put on a milled slide. These mounts runs around $20.

Before I used milled slides, I tried a Holosun red dot on a standard Glock 19 slide with an adapter plate:





After I became completely enthralled by pistol red dot sights, I wound up with this contraption (which I really, really, enjoy):

I like the Zev Tech stuff. Great looking gun. I would like something that cowitnesses.

Most milled slides will allow cowitnessing. You might need to buy supressor height sights, that's what I had to do.

I added suppressor-height sights (that can be used if the dot goes dead). The iron sights give a lower 1/3 cowitness picture. But, I almost never see the iron sights when I'm focusing on the dot. Since I upgraded my slide, I don't think I've taken more than a few shots with the iron sights.

I think at some point here I would like to get the sig 365 xl slide with the regular 365 grip and the slide cut for optics.

What is really like is the STI Stucatto C2 but it’s rather expensive.
I also like this gun for some reason.
