NC over all is safe for now, but that area has become a liberal mecca. These rats ruin a place with their policies, make it so expensive that they cannot afford to live there, then move on to a new spot to start the process all over again.

Makes you happy that our lives are so short. I got what, 50 years left? How much worse can it get? (Don’t answer, probably a lot.)

It was once considered one of the best places to obtain a permit even though left leaning. Strange, eh?

Grew up in the northern catskills, was considering NC mountain area as a possible go to... but seems like its no safe anymore.

Ain't that the truth of it. Even in red states like Texas look at Austin. It might as well be Berkley.

As an aside many of my colleagues have gone to Asheville for a special training that's given there. Most of them are libs and love it. Rave about the indy music scene, the many vegan restaurants, the "arts & culture" etc. etc. The funny thing is, because we're on a government contract, they all had to get special permission to go because of the NY travel ban there. If you remember, NY banned travel to NC because they have the gall to make you take a piss in the bathroom which corresponds to your genitalia. I still laugh about that. :ROFL:

You're basically describing what has been happening in upstate. Everyone from Westchester is moving further up now ... at least, until the liberals follow them further up.

My buddy moved there did the same thing bought a place in the mountains about 20min outside the city. I visited last month it’s so beautiful in the country, narrow roads, no guardrails. It’s almost as if they expect you to take care of yourself. Asheville does have some nice micro brew, and good restaurants. I think you have to be a resident for a month to get your ccw. Not sure but I remember him calling and bragging about how easy it was

Actually, not really. The intent of the 2A was to have people armed on par with the average soldier. We should be able to have full auto M4s, honestly.

Arguing the AR-15 is a weapon of war is not an argument when we’re supposed to be armed with actual military grade firearms, according to the intent of 2A.

We've been down there every year for vacation or work. Every year there was a new set of construction cranes (3 or 4 new buildings). I've watched entire city blocks razed for the high rise offices. Just outside the city loop a whole bunch of hotels went up in the past 24 months. The last hotel we stayed in was a quick build, workmanship was horrible. That's the down side of a boom city.

Agreed, but what somesoldier is saying is that the left is ignorant and they don't really care. They just want any excuse to incrementally dismantle the Second Amendment.

Yea we did a brewery hop last time I was there, wicked weed had some good beers. My wife And I actually introduced our friends to that city. My wife’s family lives in Greenville South Carolina so we’ve been going up to Asheville most times that we go visit the family we can leave our kid with his grandma and take a couple days in Asheville. Greenville is another city that’s exploding it seems like everything is brand new the only problem with that is there’s lots of strip mall chain restaurant dining, and not so much mom and pop. Next time you go you should check out Sierra Nevada that place is amazing it’s a huge building and they have beers on tap that you can’t buy at the store. It’s out by the airport

I understand that, my point was that it doesn't matter if it's a nuclear missle or sling shot, they want you disarmed to be a better save period.

he was being a wise ass, the complete video, interestingly enough he brings up ex post facto: A law that makes illegal an act that was legal when committed, increases the penalties for an infraction after it has been committed, or changes the rules of evidence to make conviction easier. The Constitution prohibits the making of ex post facto law.

Are fire arms owned prior to Safe Act covered under ex post facto? By this definition they would be.
