Congressman Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) last week advocated for legislation to ban an semi-automatic firearms and to “go after resisters” who refuse to relinquish their lawfully-acquired firearms.

To their credit, NBC asked Swalwell directly whether he was “prepared for some of the confrontations that might erupt from this,” adding, “You’re surely familiar with the slogan, ‘I'll give you my gun when you pry it from my cold dead hands.’” Swalwell brushed aside the question, indicating that Parkland survivors who have been advocating for gun control have given him “courage” for resolute action.

The actions he is calling for, however, carry inherent risks of further unnecessary loss of innocent life.

But that is what the gun “debate” has come to in America, with at least one gun control advocate so emboldened that he’s openly willing to put violent confrontations on the table to advance the agenda.

Any politician seen walking or getting into a car, any LEO known to have participated, any judge known to support this, will be taken out of the equation. Some say they will die there in a hail of gun fire, others say it best to pretend to comply turn over most of your guns but then go "dig up" the guns they don't know about and remember your oath.

My ex Chinese girlfriend grew up during the cultural revolution . Any thing old was destroyed by the red guard . Her grandparents were fairly wealthy . Her family owned a ming vase ... Today worth over a quarter Million .. Her mother buried it and put a rug over over the fresh dug earth. .... The red guard came looking for anything that was forbidden . These were 13-14 year old kids doing these sweeps.. After they inspected the house they asked my then 4 year old girlfriend if there was anything that was illegal . She dutifully led them to the rug and pointed ... Just a word of caution.

I've heard stories like that before, and have always kept that in mind. I wouldn't be telling ANYONE where I have goods buried and nothing written down.

They aren't going to go house to house. It'll just be legislated against and some will turn them in and some will not and become felons. They'll be gone in a generation or 2 depending on if your children will keep them or not. And if they don't get rid of them their kids, kids will.

My guess is that most kids who inherit them will dump them because they wouldn't be able to be used in the range or while hunting. It wouldn't be worth the headache.

Either that or we'll just turn them into bolt actions to comply with the law. That's what I think most will do. There isn't going to be any ridiculous "From my cold dead hands standoffs." That's all talk and nothing but talk. The tough guys will just keep them hidden in closets and attics and say that they are resisting.
