I'm not excusing it, but probably some cops/das know that a particular guy is a real piece of shit and needs to be kept off the streets, soooo, not really surprising.

100% of plea deals are perverted justice.

You either let a guilty person off easy, or you railroaded an innocent person.

The very idea that you can "bargain" justice is perverse.

As are deals for testimony. If the DA offered you $1000 to say your buddy sold you some drugs it would be criminal, but he can offer to knock 6 months off your sentence ?

Justice is deterministic, anything else isn't justice. The same set of facts should always lead to the same conclusion.

Yes. Yes they do.

Once there is real mayhem and chaos, they can stoke fear in the law-abiding voting population. Those scared sheep will gladly vote to give more power to the central government in order to attain "safety."

In the end, people will vote for their own enslavement.

Socialistic totalitarianism can be voted into place. But, we'll eventually have to fight to remove it.
