Democratic Strongholds Are Seeing Their Tax Revenue Plummet​

Republican states are seeing their revenue soar​

Heavily taxed blue states such as New York and California last year had some of the country's most drastic drops in tax revenue. At the same time, Republican states are enjoying the highest revenue increases even as they keep income taxes low.

New York, which under Democratic governor Kathy Hochul has the highest tax burden in the country, saw a similar revenue drop of almost 20 percent. Both California and New York last year saw their populations shrink by about 294,000 residents, Bloomberg reported.

FAIR: Illegal Immigration Costs New York Taxpayers Nearly $10 Billion in 2022​

WASHINGTON, March 8, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Mass illegal immigration and misguided state policies that provide illegal with benefits and services now cost New York taxpayers nearly $10 billion in 2022, according to a newly-released cost analysis by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR). Importantly, these figures do not reflect the full impact of Biden administration policies that are resettling large numbers of migrants in New York. New York City anticipates an additional $4 billion in costs in the coming year as a result of these policies.

The report, The Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on United States Taxpayers, pegs the combined federal, state and local costs associated with illegal immigration at $182 billion annually, with New York absorbing more of the costs than all but three states. The costs incurred by New York taxpayers include K-12 education, indigent medical care, housing and nutrition assistance. In addition, New York provides other costly benefits for illegal aliens such as in-state tuition at public colleges and universities, housing for migrants in luxury hotels, and maintains sweeping sanctuary policies that encourage illegal aliens to settle there.

Oddly, I have been saying, for years. If New Yorkistan were to REDUCE taxes, they would actually get MORE revenue. This bit of wisdom seems to be demonstrated today. Low taxes, LOTS more people paying LOW taxes, equals more revenue. but these dumbass douchebags can't seem to wrap their pointy heads around that concept.

California and New York and other Blue states have demonstrated that you can't lower taxes, cater to the middle class while becoming a welfare state for votes to keep power and control by attracting millions of welfare recipients. It's one or the other. These Blue states would rather rule over the poor than partner with the revenue providers.
