An effort to impose tougher drunken driving restrictions in New York is generating opposition from a national trade association representing restaurant chains and retailers.

The legislation from Democratic lawmakers would lower the legal blood-alcohol limit for driving while intoxicated from .08 percent to .05 percent, while also lowering the threshold for aggravated driving while intoxicated by a third to .12 percent. The National Transportation Safety Board recommended in 2013 that states lower the DWI limit to .05 percent, and this limit took effect at the end of 2018 in Utah.

Lyft IPO'd last week at $72, it immediately dropped to $68 and has been in a steady DECLINE. It's now trading at $60, LOL

Uber is at least twice as large as Lyft, it's current valuation is estimated between $100 and $120 BILLION

It should be noted the CDI threshold for DWI is .04

If I actually thought this was being pushed in the name of safety and not political and monetary benefit, I wouldn’t be as bothered by it.

Uber is looking to take over all aspects of driving. They have poured millions of dollars into the new congestion tax that Cuomo is looking to implement for entering lower Manhattan.

The possibilities are endless, imagine the lengths they will go to discourage private citizens from owning automobiles or driving. They're going to raise the cost of everything to price private transportation out of existence. That's their tactic.

Maybe they should just punish people under the current limits. I work with quite a few guys that have MULTIPLE DWI arrests and/or convictions. The current system is a fucking joke. It's just a money grab. If you can afford the fines there's no jail time.

One of the guys at work injured someone in his first DWI accident. No jail time Then he hurt someone else in a second DWI accident. Guess what - he was released after the booking. Then he got caught driving under the influence again while awaiting that trial. Why are these idiots allowed to remain free to possibly kill people?

I bought LYFT puts the morning they were available (last week). The stock tanked yesterday spectacularly and my total position went up by 600% on one of the puts and around 70% on some others.

Sadly, I had not even invested a thousand on this venture (more like $250 lol), so my actual profit was extremely small, but it sure felt good. I also don't use a substantial amount of money on this sort of thing because it's close to gambling and I know that. These companies are way overhyped.
