The language of the bipartisan border security funding legislation is still being written. Unfortunately, reports indicate Democrat language will be inserted into the DHS funding bill that will allow any town, city, municipality, mayor, city manager or local council within any border state to veto the construction of any structural border security wall or fence.

This definitely sounds like an approach the Lawfare group would be assisting with. Despite overwhelming support from the majority of Americans, the DC Uniparty seems to consistently find a way to usurp national sovereignty. Very frustrating.

So…the Cartels can either pay off the mayors of these small towns with huge bribes, or threaten them and their families if they don’t allow unhindered passage through their area. What I'm confused about is under title 10 US code, congress provided for the executive branch to be able to use the military to build structures such as walls, barriers, fences and maybe I'm misinformed but that would seem unrelated to declaring a national emergency. In other words, Trump can direct the military to build something without a declaration of emergency. If this is actually the case, why not just have the military build it all and just drop the whole national emergency(even though it is one) thing and tell the dems to go to hell?

Think Army Corps of Engineers. They can work on Public Works projects on US soil, but the money for the project has to come from somewhere. By declaring an emergency, Trump can free up funds from FEMA disaster funding to pay for it.

Why not build it as a training exercise? Surely they have to train? There’s probably a military line item for it, and I bet it’s got a big number too.
