Detectives Seized Guns at Home of Suspected Santa Clarita School Shooter in the Past
According to court records, the 16-year-old's mother and father took a dispute to court in 2016 over who should have custody of the teen
That case was resolved in August 2016.

Around the same time, several law enforcement sources have told NBC4 that deputies from the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s station detained the teenager’s father on an involuntary hold for a mental health evaluation.

As a result of that, deputies seized a number of firearms from the home. Those guns were eventually destroyed by the County.

As detectives searched the home of a 16-year-old boy who allegedly walked onto campus Thursday morning and opened fire on his classmates, leaving two of them dead and injuring others, authorities revealed they discovered other guns at the teen’s home.

So a child stole a gun from his mentally ill father to shoot up a school???

They should make laws to stop these kind of things.

I suppose it is possible that the father and / or son kept a gun or two back from confiscation, but it is more likely that the kid managed to buy one illegally on the street. Or maybe he convinced another kid in school to loan or sell it to him from their parents collection, - in which case that kid will likely be in a big pile of crap once ATF tracks it down.

No doubt we will hear in a few days.

I am reading father is dead and police destroyed all his guns ...... Perhaps his mother also had guns . From reading stories about the shooting 1st round fired then the gun jammed .. He cleared the jam ... Shooting took 15 seconds total... 3 off duty police officers were at the school when the shooting occurred. Dropping off their children.
