Note from Dispatch Opinion Editor Amelia Robinson Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine signed House Bill 99 into law Monday giving the power to local school districts to arm their teachers and staff with four scenario-based training hours and a maximum of 20 hours for first-aid training.

Ohio law previous required about 700 hours. The state's new constitutional carry law took effect Monday.

Is my math correct? 17.5 weeks of instruction on firearms. Lets compare that to.......lol

Okay.......I went through, lets just say an experimental shooting package while in the military way back in my day and it lasted 12 weeks. Constant shooting and tactics. It was designed to give a forward deployed unit the direct action capabilities to deal with terrorists on U.S. foreign territories. Once these teachers pass this course, they can deploy with SEAL team six. lol
