Pulls guns from 440 more stores...... I mean they can account for 250 million in lost sales but they still do it. must be nice to have a conscience.....idiot. stop shopping there long ago unless I was desperate...as of last year I will never be that desperate....even if I need something like tennis balls...I will go to a gun selling store for all my non gun crap too.
Dick’s Sporting Goods has thrown in the towel on gun and ammo sales at another 440 of its stores. Because, for Dick’s CEO Ed Stack, losing $250 million in sales from implementing anti-gun measures simply wasn’t woke enough. That’s right: At last March’s stockholder’s meeting, Stack claimed his...
Haven't been there since they pulled their shit......and won't be going back there again.....EVER. My life has been just fine without them. Time these assholes start thinking instead of reacting......which is exactly what they did. FUDICKS.
It's way cheaper online. I actually go to dicks to see what I want and try it on. Then go home and order it online. The only thing I buy from them are hockey pucks because else nobody around me sells them.
Is it just Dick's or does it include Field & Stream? Are they shifting their gun business to Field & Stream in hopes of attracting the politically correct crowd? Last time I bought a firearm from a big box store was when Galyan's was at the Walden Galleria. Picked up an 1894P and a 1894CP.
In January their stock was trading at (about) $48/share, it's been on a steady decline ever since. At the end of February they were at $36/share, today they are at $26.44 as of 11:10am. they have lost close to 50% of there stock in 3 months.
Now, a lot of this has to do with the CoVid-19 issue. I would think a lot of what (limp) Dicks sells comes from China. And they charge a boat-load for it. But announcing they are dumping the entire hunting dept is not helping the situation.
If I were a stock holder, I would be pretty pissed off. If you go back three years, when Limp-Dick Stack decided to can the AR-15, the stock went from $51 to $24 in 4 months. Im not sure if CEO Stack is trying to beat his old record or not?
With the NBA postponing the rest of the season, and all the other major sports implementing social distancing protocols, possible little league and youth soccer leagues canceling their seasons, and tennis players and golfers just like everyone else exercising more caution, Dicks should get just what they deserve. Negative profits......or bottom line losses on their income statements. Nyuk nyuk nyuk
Gun stores across America have long lines of customers waiting to get inside. Dick’s Sporting Goods does not. A while back, CEO Ed Stack made the strategic move of removing America’s favorite rifle and other hot-selling modern sporting rifles from Dick’s shelves. More recently, he ordered an end...
I was there today, for a very good reason. Dicks is the anchor store at the local mall with one of the entry points into the mall from the parking lot. I passed thru the store to go visit my wife who works in another store in that mall.
What they are doing is becoming Sports Authority. With zero firearms sales, they are completely losing a profitable segment, and archers and fishermen are going to lose interest as well. With good reason, their offerings are basic and geared towards recreation only. Their air gun selection is as bad as Walmart and the entire back corner of the store has lost all relevance. They're going to have to survive on clothing and sports gear. But wait - Covid has utterly decimated team sports, so all of the baseball, football, soccer, lacrosse, softball, volleyball and field hockey gear just sits. Active wear is in every single store that sells clothes, shoe stores are a dime a dozen. That leaves fitness equipment, camping gear, and small boats - and again, the quality of stuff they sell is abysmal. All China made and low performance. Bikes? Garbage. In line skates? Garbage. All things you can get online at better prices and better quality.
Sports Authority is bankrupt and liquidated. Without a miracle, Dick(head)s will follow the same path.
