So today I shipped ammo to a buyer from my UPS hub. I've shipped numerous times from them in the past to members here.

Today, the guy tells me that they cannot do it and that it has to be shipped to a FFL. I got flustered and upset and told them the usual that I've shipped from here numerous times and that the law was not valid because I am not a dealer, official seller of ammunition, and that the database is not in effect so the law isn't valid.

He showed me the new sign behind me, told me to wait so that they can show me the official letterhead and helped the lady behind me.

When she left, he told me to rip the ORM-D stickers off the box and to go back to the computer and change the contents of the package. I did to nuts, bolts, and screws and thanked him. He told me that it's a new policy that he does not agree with.

Have your UPS Hubs (not private store franchises) said anything similar recently?

This thing is going beyond Cuomo, you have radical groups threatening banks, and large corporations for playing nice with guns and ammo they will be shamed and boycotted by gun-haters, and then you have corporate legal exercising risk management.

Imagine the 2nd Amendment-hating media doing their usual 24-7 coverage attacking UPS because some hypothetical dingbat orders some ammo (delivered by UPS) and commits a heinous crime.

Gun owners have never faced such freedom-hating, American-hating, wackos.

I do not ship ammunition. The ammunition I receive comes through FedEx. My son has worked at UPS nie on 30 years. Will ask him about it when I get home.

They figured the formula out; they're working from the old school counterinsurgency manuals.

1. Make it illegal or quasi-illegal.
2. MAKE IT LOGISTICALLY DIFFICULT even if it isn't actually illegal.

These are not mutually exclusive but step two follows if you have things like a Bill of Rights.

The UPS store sets their own rules, avoid them. They don't ship guns or ammo, as per the store rules.

Next time go to the UPS hub. Print out in advance the relevant pages from the UPS manual. Bring them with you. If the counter refuses to accept, start a video record on your phone and show the UPS guy the official rules. Get them on video saying they will not follow them. Believe it or not UPS will come down on the guy who does not accept a proper package.

Was it Chester ? Walked into Chester with a BLR all boxed up in a brown unmarked box. And the first thing the guy said was oh I know what that is. Then he goes I hope you have a copy of the FFL that it’s going to. I told him no it was going to A smith and he wouldn’t accept it. I had to go home call the gunsmith have him email me a copy of his FFL print it and bring it back.

The guy was a total douch.

If I ever have to do it again I’m just saying that it’s machined parts.

We asked one of our local UPS drivers last night. First words were "was it the a$$hole in Chester or Nanuet?" They were not aware of a new service wide policy. Chuckling, they also noted a recent uptick in 20 lb ORM-D deliveries.

Yep. Chester. I had somebody pm me that knows someone who works for UPS and apparently it's the Chester supervisor in charge. I guess I will be driving to another hub in future.

My Dad shipped and received a lot of "machine parts" form around the world when I was a kid... Those were the days.
