The next one is the important one, the libs and rinos will fight this, blood in the streets fight. I'm not as convinced now that it will go our way, we'll see...If nothing else, at least we get some Supreme Court picks which was my biggest reason for voting for him.
True, but a Hillary win would have been completely devastating. The next one is the important one, the libs and rinos will fight this, blood in the streets fight. I'm not as convinced now that it will go our way, we'll see...
Oh, absolutely, all I'm getting at is the country voted for Trump for more than SCOTUS picks, this budget is just a bad sign I'm afraid of things to come.True, but a Hillary win would have been completely devastating.
How can this be?Time will tell, so far, all is good.
Nah. This was still a better choice. Voting for the libertarian would have put your girl in the White House.Just to be clear, I said this months before his election, and I was trashed and trolled.
Now, I'm not giving up yet, but maybe think a little next time before you dismiss the Libertarian stance? Don't pull the "no chance" card?
"But we won the SUCTOUS"
If it pans out in any manner like this elections has, I fully expect a net gain of exactly nothing.
I just wish I knew who my girl was.Nah. This was still a better choice. Voting for the libertarian would have put your girl in the White House.
With SCOTUS a net gain of nothing is immensely better than what we would have seen from Hillary.Just to be clear, I said this months before his election, and I was trashed and trolled.

We're in NY, our voted don't count in federal elections.Nah. This was still a better choice. Voting for the libertarian would have put your girl in the White House.
*assuming this fly by night pick isn't the same bought and paid for crap. With SCOTUS a net gain of nothing is immensely better than what we would have seen from Hillary.
No matter how much we get screwed out of Trump's promises, we are still worlds better than the alternative.

I say yes; unless he vetoes it outright, or uses a case of Sharpies on "line item vetoes".

That has yet to be seen.
What if people in Michigan and Pennsylvania threw their vote away to the libertarian? That's what I was getting at. Had there been Darths in all those states, we'd have a 9th Circuit judge in Gorsuch's place. We're in NY, our voted don't count in federal elections.
If you live in a swing state, or a potential swing state, by all means vote strategically. For the rest of us symbolically is best. What if people in Michigan and Pennsylvania threw their vote away to the libertarian? That's what I was getting at. Here's another for your consideration my friend:
Tomgram: Nomi Prins, All in the Family Trump | TomDispatch
Be sure to read the links, and search for more stories about the expansion of business interests belonging to Ivanka & Jared like this one:
Report: Jared Kushner Didn’t Disclose $1 Billion in Loans, Investment Ties to Goldman Sachs and George Soros
Jared Kushner is a Goldman Sachs & Soros lackey, but both he and his wife are serving as advisors to the most powerful official in the country with the highest level of security clearances. But Jared "forgot" to disclose a billion $ in ties to Goldman's & Soros to get those clearances? Oopsie!
Weren't we told that we couldn't vote for some of the other R candidate because of their ties to Goldman Sachs (cough, Cruz, Cough)?
Do some digging on the Kushner family. It ain't pretty.
There is a lot more out there on Trump that was known long before he was ever elected.
Trump is doing what all politicians do in the DC swamp: monetizing his political position and power for his own dynasty, in the same manner as the Kennedy clan, the Clintons, the Bushes, and so on.
When he promised to drain the $wamp, everyone assumed he meant to do so to get rid of the gators by $tarving them to death.
Unfortunately, its looking like he's merely diverting the $wamp water to his own clan's advantage, and going along with the rest of the gators to do so while ignoring the big game hunters that put him in office with the expectation that he meant what he said as an "outsider."
I hope these various articles are wrong, but would we be surprised if they aren't? Trump is a NY City liberal, with oversees business ventures in some of the worst hell holes on the planet, and long ties to very shady people (including the Clintons and Schumer).
In the run up to the defeat of Shillary, I basically kept my mouth shut about Trump because I do in fact support many of the policies that the People who voted for him support. I am not against the Trump voters, support most of their conservative positions, and certainly did not want Clinton to get the office.
Trump has a very long and very checkered history. He's wheeled and dealed on casinos and hotels and other business interests all over the country and the world, in some of the worst political hell holes (including Islamic totalitarian nations). He's never been an "outsider" in any way, shape, or form.
I'm certainly glad Shillary got her comeuppence, but Americans were fooling themselves in thinking that Trump is the solution to the myriad of moral, fiscal, and security problems that face the nation.
How do you know you are in a swing state? Trump won states that were without a doubt going to Hillary according to the media. If you live in a swing state, or a potential swing state, by all means vote strategically. For the rest of us symbolically is best.

Never throw your vote away. Symbolism mean absolutely nothing to either party.
This is why I changed my registration to Dem. It gives me one more chance (at the primary) to vote against the likes of Cuomo. If you live in a swing state, or a potential swing state, by all means vote strategically. For the rest of us symbolically is best.
If Trump had won NY, he sure as he'll would have won enough other states first that he wouldn't have needed NY.How do you know you are in a swing state? Trump won states that were without a doubt going to Hillary according to the media.

So symbolic votes should only apply to NY and California and a few others? If Trump had won NY, he sure as he'll would have won enough other states first that he wouldn't have needed NY.
If they see 10% in those states, both parties will realize what it takes to get those 10% in the others. So symbolic votes should only apply to NY and California and a few others?
When the GOP sees that 10 percent went to that crazy wacko Johnson in those few states, do you think they will say, "Oh crap! We need to change our policies!"
I usually agree with damned near everything you say. Not this. If you really think that Hillary would try to get the 10 percent libertarian vote in NY, well.....If they see 10% in those states, both parties will realize what it takes to get those 10% in the others.
I don't care if the Republicans or the Democrats or both try to court those voters, as long as the do.
Libertarians aren't shoeins for Republicans, how would you like to see some Dems try to out libertarian the Republican they are running against ?
They may not change their core platform, but it will influence what they decide to bring up.I usually agree with damned near everything you say. Not this. If you really think that Hillary would try to get the 10 percent libertarian vote in NY, well.....
The same thing goes if Bush or Kasich was the nominee. No way they are going to change their agenda to try to get 10 percent of the NY vote.
They don't care.
I think he got advised that we gun owners are a minority. They may not change their core platform, but it will influence what they decide to bring up.
You're not going to get a pro gun Dem at the national level, but you might scare the crap out of the normal ones so that they leave that issue alone for instance.
Most of what we suffer from in NY was from Cuomo trying to pander to the left to set himself up for a presidential bid. If his advisors had warned him that the issue was poison, and that he isn't going to gain any votes from the left, but he will drive votes to his opponent instead, do you still think we would have ended up with SAFE ?
