Discussion: Storing ammo in gun safe with guns

I store all ammo in a conditioned space. I would worry about temperature fluctuations in the garage shortening the lifespan.

Of course we're probably talking about reducing a 50 year storage life to 20 years, but I still like to keep it well protected.

It's a concrete garage, not just hollow block but old handmade large solid concrete blocks and with the exception of winter stays fairly cool in there even in July. Besides I had to move all my bulk ammo out there as I had so much weight in my gun room(2nd floor) the dining room ceiling below started cracking!

Like several of you I have several storage methods. I have two pistol safes where I keep my pistols and most of their safe defense rounds. Target rounds and rifle rounds are kept mostly in ammo cans.
