Also we fight this? How, how do we fight it. We make a commercial that debunks it with the truth and many will never see it and far less will believe it. Mostly us would see the counter-commercial and that will change what? Get used to losing because the media is run by the left.
My wife complained to Facebook about an ad she saw for sex in the city where two gay dudes were doing it and you could see their butt cheeks. You couldn’t see anything else and Facebook said it doesn’t violate their rules and it wasn’t nudity. So now butts aren’t private parts? It’s a losing battle.

Meanwhile I have been FB jailed for commenting that abusive animal owners should be euthanized instead of the animal. They said my words could lead to violence. So? No issues with that type of violence. Now when I comment I spell it "youth and eyes" instead to get around the insanity.

I love the fact that the CDC has a filter option for "both sexes", but not "all sexes".

How about the Governor saying how she didn't need statistics about guns and her job was to keep New Yorkers safe? Yet rapes and all kinds up non gun violence has and still occurs. But the article doesn't mention that. And since she had stated that it was her responsibility to keep us all safe then she is responsible for every violent crime committed. So when are the police going to lock her up?

In life, words mean a great deal. Words are very powerful and the words we choose can significantly change the meaning of conversation and dialogue. Although some may consider it semantics, it is important to make this distinction. Custodial engineer or sanitation engineer sound very different than janitor or garbage man, and can change the whole tone of a discussion.
When was the last time you heard of someone killed by a drunk driver being called "alcohol violence" or "car violence"? When was the last time you heard of a stabbing referred to as "knife violence"? When was the last time you heard of a bombing killing innocent people described as "bomb violence"? I find it interesting that in those situations we blame the driver, attacker and bomber, not the instrument they used to harm others. Alcohol, cars, knives and bombs are nothing more than tools or things. They are inanimate objects. We don't make them into entities. Why isn't that done with guns also? Why do we blame the gun and not the person who shot the gun? The reason is very evident to me.
It is used this way by those who have an agenda, by those who have fear, those misguided and ignorant. It is done to accomplish a goal. That goal is making society so afraid of firearms that people will stop at nothing to get rid of them. All of them. It perpetuates the myth that guns are solely used to do harm without any ability to protect and do good. It is used by those who want to "feel safe", even though nobody is owed safety. Safety is not a birth right, only life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are. Don't get me wrong, I am all for people feeling safe and secure. In fact, that is why I believe in the ability for a law abiding citizen to own firearms and do so myself. Unfortunately there are those who feel the need to take away my right so they can feel "safe", when the real root of the problem is their fear. If someone chooses not to own a firearm, they have that right. They just don't have the right to make me defenseless so they can feel "safer".
Lets now look at the word "weapon". Can a hammer become a weapon? How about your fist? Any object has the ability to turn into a "weapon". We don't however refer to most objects as "weapons". You don't normally refer to something as anything other than what it is. Can a hammer build something? A hammers main purpose is to drive a nail. Can your hands create something useful? Well, like it or not, a firearm is designed to do something and that something is shoot. The purpose you use it for is a whole other story. Since a firearm can be used to protect and for sport, it shouldn't casually be referred to as something that only has the intention of doing harm, a weapon. Again, it can be with bad intent, but it is the intent or individual that makes the distinction, not the firearm.
Lets also take the term "illegal gun". When it comes down to it, there is also no such thing. Here we go with semantics again. Someone who has a gun that shouldn't is either an illegal (gun) owner, a person who has a gun illegally, or a person who illegally owns a gun. The gun itself isn't "illegal" because it is just what it is, a gun. Nothing more, nothing less. Don't misunderstand or misrepresent what I am saying here. Nobody is saying that a gun in the hands of a bad or stupid person doesn't have the ability to lead to a violent outcome, but the person is the reason. The individual would be the violent factor, not the gun.
To sum things up, in order for there to be "gun violence", the gun needs to get up, get dressed, load itself and leave the building to cause death and destruction on its own. Guns have no more of an ability to become "violent" than any other tool or inanimate object. Why not "human" or "people violence"? By using the terms like "gun violence", "illegal gun", etc., we make the mistake of making the gun responsible instead of the person using it, just as those who want to take our rights away would want. Please watch the words you use and correct others when they use them.

They are given special, meaningful words, such as vehicular manslaughter, vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular homicide, etc. Just because it’s not called “car violence” doesn’t validate the fact that guns are used by dirtbags in the commission of crimes, which can include a random shooting of individuals who have no connection to the shooter other than being in proximity to the shooter at the time of a crime that shooter committed.
Guns don’t kill people. People kill people. And they do it all different manners. Sometimes we call it domestic violence. Sure, words matter, like pseudo-intellectual, for example. It’s my favorite self-descriptor.
My point is that “gun violence” may be regarded as a scary catch phrase that is factually erroneous due to an inanimate impossibility, but people still understand that it means a firearm was involved in some sort of altercation or breech of law, etc.

While it might be nice how this thread has ventured into semantics... The advertisement is what should be discussed in my opinion. The intent, the design, the purposeful use of Religion within the ad. The left progressive agenda fully engaged at two of it's agenda targets. Gun Violence verbage and its use here isn't really the problem as it's been used so much, it practically isn't noticed any more. So what they needed was something so off the edge, so outlandish it would garner attention! So they put an adult at the edge of a pool that watches a kid drown... All the while calling out to GOD for help! Simple right? And although I'm not an every Sunday practicing church goer, I find it repulsive, infuriating, that they would cross this line.
One, by making it appear every adult just stands by as children die. And two, by invoking GOD does not exist as nothing happens!

Read the title of what you’re looking at because it’s unintentional deaths not all deaths. I only point this out because you said it’s leading causes of deaths and this is specific to accidents. Many people to this stuff on purpose to mislead people and I don’t think that was your intention here.
Many kids that age range do die buy firearms but it’s mostly gang related. If you remove the gangs I’ll bet it’s a really low number.

Too many kids die by guns but laws won’t prevent that because it’s criminals that kill. Most kids are killed in gang violence or a domestic.
They need to do a better job of keeping guns out of the hands of criminals(violent felons) and crazies.
How about just prosecuting those who use a firearm in the commission of a crime! Cut all the bullshit, no pleas, no deals, you do the crime, you do the time! And for those hardened criminals, violent offenders and repeat offenders, cracking rocks for food and putting it on a public Access channel daily so they can see their friends isn't such a bad idea either!

I get what you're saying, but the fact is that THE leading cause of death for children 1-19 is "unintentional deaths" (yes, accidents).....straight from the CDC and the link that the "moms" posted on their official FB page, I was just using their own stats to call them out. After accidents, #2 is suicide, and #3 is homicide. (If you remove gangs (homicides) and just look at suicide by gun, the number is staggering....over 11K)
The "moms" are trying to make an argument that guns are the leading cause of death, they're not. Accidents are....and accidental death by firearm is #8 on the list of accidental causes. Semantics? Yes, but as we know: words have meaning, and anyone can flip context to fit any narrative they wish.
I was then told "my facts are wrong" by the moms, to which I replied "tell it to the CDC". They stopped engaging with me after that.
