disposal of old ammo?

Morning everyone! My wife’s family was doing some cleaning at her Grandmother house and came across some old ammo and was instructed to “get rid of it”. A few boxes of calibers that I own, I was allowed to keep, there are however maybe a dozen rounds of randoms a few of which look to be surplus with no clear ID marks/stampings. What would be the best method to dispose of these? I live in the burbs, so sticking them bullet down in the dirt is not really what I have in mind...

HA, unless its FTF in the Syracuse area I'm not too worried about it. I can take some pictures upon request. But literally its 15 rounds 2-3 alike out of the whole bunch.

I dont. I thought about buying one years ago, just never had enough reason to use one to justify the purchase.

Selling it on GB is easy, and it can be shipped by UPS inexpensively.

AND - you really do not have to print the label out at all. If you are good with a black marker, you can draw a similar label right on the box.

Ammo I have shipped was in the original box.

Alternately, I'd grab some paper and place each round in a rolled paper tube, closed with tape. So as to protect the tip and the primer.

You'd not want to just toss it all randomly in a box.

Take some pictures and offer them up. I'm sure someone here with put them to good use.

Bullet puller only necessary if you're trying to save bullet n brass. Otherwise two pair of pliars. FUBAR brass and bullet afterwards. A drop or two of oil will kill primer.

I'd check to see if it is collectable. Some old ammo out there that may be hard to come by. If its common give it to the police if your worried about it . that would be the most responsible thing to do.

When I get off stuff I don't need I post it on our local hunting forum, if it doesn't go I take it to a small local gun shop and give it to them to give away.

I pock.up brass where we go shooting to reuse, the calibers I don't need gets a new home as well. Some I trade for what I can use, some gets sold and some gets given away.

A small local gun shop would be a good outlet.
