That's amazing.. I recently started to look into it - and there ARE companies that make "NY-legal" match rifles.. but it just seems such a waste of money (in this state).

NY currently has only one EIC match (leg match) per year. Most of the leg matches are in NJ, PA, New England.
EIC is federally chartered program, states don't interfere.

That's how people get hooked. Eventually the focus shifts towards your shooting, or not. Getting a cool rifle is fun for a week or two. Eventually novelty factor wares off and it becomes a safe queen. Shooting is fun pastime that can last a lifetime.
