Do you listen to or ignore the Preppers Network?

There are many preppers on YouTube warning this or warning that.
Do these guys "network" with each other to provide intel on the current situation? YES!
Do you heed them? Do you ignore them as nutjobs?

Here is an example of a guy explaining what HE SEES.
Others are predicting "the end".
Simple logic is that once the backlog in the container ships clears up thing will be normal again, right? But China's shipping is drastically dried up. What does the USA produce? Not much.
Some even say that the whole COVID thing was China's opening shot in their attack on the world.
What I do know it the shipping on ships from China ain't what it used to be. Once the backlog is depleted, then what?

I watch a few of these from time to time, mostly sucked in my a thumbnail. They really are all the same with the same repeating stories; the end is near, better do this, someone who cant be disclosed told me this, This news is the worst, XX days before the end, riots soon, this is running out better stock up quick, etc,etc. The problem being is the doom never seems to come. Clicks for shock videos get way more hits than content that helps you be more prepared I suppose.
Some of these channels have been running the same "urgency" for literally years. I think something is going to come, just likely not this week.

I use them as a reference/gauge, or just information and make my own judgement.

Life is different in certain areas of the US in how it's all handled.

However, learning from my elders, there are certain things you need to do in order to survive in a minimalist environment. This is something that most lack or can't ascertain.

From what I see on some of those videos, while good for them that they got 30 years of food stowed away, they wouldn't be able to survive like my parents, grandparents, great grandparents had to before we had freeze dried/canned food readily available to the public. Along without all the gizmos that we got today. They'd be singing a different tune.

Just like some of them pushing solar generators. Electricity is the last thing I'd be looking for/need. Electricity is like the Internet -- a luxury.

Think back to the <<30s, 40s, 50s time...

I use them as a tool. I watch many of these types of videos. I learn little things here and there.

I used to watch all of Nate's videos on Canadian Prepper, but he is turning into a far wacko as of late. I skim through his content.

They are all saying the same thing due to lack of content and living in an echo chamber.

They all talk to this expert of that expert and they have friends in all kinds of high places.

More or less use them the same as others

1- entertainment
2- alternative news and information
3- learn things, connect the dots, use them as a collection of sources as a barometer on which way the winds are blowing. Try to be ahead of the curve and know things before the unwashed masses
4-learn new skills, ideas, strategies. Think of things I haven't thought of before.

It won't change the course of fate and I know a lot of it is click bait. Some are more grounded than others, some more reliable, some more excitable, some more entertaining etc

He has been asking for folks to send him information on what is happening around the country. .. As in shortages ...
I watch some bushcrafting sites ....
One has to pick up ideas on certain products like say durability . I have prepped for a long time . ... A few months ago we saw millions of people heading for the polish border . They were dragging suitcases and garbage bags to haul their earthly possessions ... What are these folks going to do if poland enters the war. Poland will have millions of their own refugee issues. . I have been as late buying items for my get home bags and bug out bags. Many of these sites are helpful in finding quality products.

I cant watch CPs stuff much anymore. Every title of his videos are basically saying "the end is near".
