My wife went for a physical with a new doctor last month. As part of the Q & A info gathering, she was asked if there are any guns in the household. Caught off guard by this question she answered yes there are. There were follow up questions on how the firearms and ammo were stored as well as if there are any children in the household. Immediately after questioning her, she was given a mental competency test asking her to remember an address that the Dr just recited as well as other mental capacity questions. Apparently, these questions are perfectly legal. as least in the state of NY, and might even be required to be asked. This plays right into the Red Flag laws which can lead to confiscation of your firearms indefinitely. As a point of reference both myself and my wife have had CCW's for over 30 years and had the target restrictions removed immediately after the Bruen decision. The takeaway here is the correct answer to this are there any guns in the household question is a definitive NO.
