They are a confused bunch. They're against one government tax. But, they still put out a list of demands that empower the government to control private citizens in other ways.
These French protestors are not rallying for liberty.

I’m not sure where you guys are getting this from, that they are socialist.
A lot of what I’ve been seeing from on the ground interviews is that they are pissed about open borders and a lot are very nationalist. But it’s not homogenous, both sides and everything in between is a part of it.

Watching those videos, it still looks to me like it's still primarily about taxes. They say it isn't only about that but all they keep saying is taxes and affording to live.
Sure some are doing it for immigration but taxes are the primary reason.
