It's pretty clear there is a disconnect between reality, and the SJW version of reality that "woke" bleeding heart leftists believe.
I'm not sure where I heard it first, but the best term I've heard for this phenomena is "oppression porn." Wild lies about reality, or historical fiction that leftists try to tell themselves about how oppressed such and such aspect of society has become.
It's one of the reasons I had to stop watching "Handmaid's Tale" because it's literally the definition of that, although clearly still "fictional" with heavy political tones.

I don’t think the black community wants to abolish the police. I think they want to defund the police union and see more accountability when a officer have committed a crime (NYPD). When a cop is being sued, let that cop pay for his defense not the union nor the tax payers is what I think they want. I also agree but think that law enforcement officers should get funded more and get more training tactically and socially. Can’t expect to get a Gucci AR with $25.

If the police never went out of their way to look for crimes when they encounter you, there wouldn’t be so much hatred towards the police. If you got pulled over for speeding and just got the ticket rather than being asked intrusive questions while constantly looking for something else to get you on, they wouldn’t be hated.
But instead they look for crimes that aren’t otherwise visible. Right when they come up to your window, they are looking for a reason to put you in jail rather than just giving you the speeding ticket you deserved. And when you don’t show the proper level of submission to satisfy their ego, the games begin.

What is this "good cause" you're speaking of?
The "Black Lives Matter" movement was borne out of lies. It was the false narrative that Trayvon was murdered. It was the false "hands up, don't shoot" Michael Brown narrative. Eric Garner? It wasn't a "choke hold" that killed him. It was him fighting with the police at 400 pounds with asthma and heart disease.
Show me a REAL case of racism or police brutality, and I'll stand with you to denounce it. Unfortunately, the biggest victim here is usually the truth.

The original protesting when Floyd was mistakenly killed due to ego to spite the onlookers , was a good cause.

The good cause as in black lives matter. Like Colion Noir stated “I support the sentiment of it but not the organization.” The original intent of showing America that African American lives matter, don’t kill unarmed black people and then the cops aren’t held accountable because “my life was in danger” as the suspect fled, but as I always stated myself “if you stand for something stand for it 100% don’t half ass it.” Chicago just had one of the deadliest shooting where a toddler was shot where’s “BLM’? NYC have shootings all the time where it’s black on black crime where’s BLM? They aren’t even helping black communities, they’re out for their own agenda masking it as helping African Americans. Not a lot of black people support BLM and it’s one of the reason why they won’t be taken seriously. You can’t fixed the world if your house isn’t in order first. A lot of African American celebrities speak on this topic and all say the same thing BLM isn’t helping black people.

I've often wondered why is BLM and before them the Al Sharpton's of the world treating the black community like a monolith? Why is BLM being treated as the mouthpiece for black America? I'm sure there are plenty of pro-cop, pro-gun, pro-America blacks who don't support BLM but their voices are never heard. It would be similar to someone coming to me and asking me to speak for white America. How the hell do I do that? The problems I deal with are my own and not necessarily representative of the "white community" or any community.
Reminds me of a time when I was taking a "leadership" class at work (translation: it was all about "diversity"...gag) and the topic of sexual harassment came up. This dipshit guy who was seated at the same table as me literally stood up and said "Ladies, I want to apologize to you on behalf on every man in this country for all the harassment and discrimination you have faced in the workplace." I didn't say anything at the time (I was still relatively new) but I really wanted to say "Shut your face, fuck tard. You don't speak for me. Or for all men for matter, especially the majority who have never harassed or discriminated against a women.
At the end of the day it's the Left playing identity politics to score political points to win elections and since the media is in their pockets their narrative gets all the coverage which in turn creates the illusion that it is the truth. The reality, which is diversity of thought and opinion, be damned.

So you think that a cop should have to pay for his own defense every time some POS dirtbag files some frivolous excessive force claim? That would be a perfect way to make sure NOBODY ever goes into law enforcement. I guess that would be a way to defund them in a roundabout way.
What legal basis would there be to disallow only cops to have unions? That makes zero sense (like much else going on).

Obviously not, there are good cops who get accused of BS claims that don’t stick and there are some who have a repeated history of one particular violation but stay on the job. Some probably get dealt with some probably not. Did you guys read what I posted or just skipped it? Like I said I “THINK” they want to defund the police union and see more accountability when a officer “HAVE COMMITED” a crime. The job is already stressful enough and having politicians playing politics with policing isn’t going to make it better nor easier. That’s why I said LEO should get funded more to get more training rather than cutting it to make shit worse.

So, either your post was poorly worded, or you're backtracking, which is fine, but just admit it. I've jumped to conclusions before I've looked at all angles, and in hindsight, I was wrong. Yep, that means doctors need near 6 figure salaries to afford the malpractice insurance. I doubt many cops would complain about that aspect of them having to carry their own insurance.

All public sector employees, maybe. Government is a special beast as an employer. It is a legally mandated monopoly on nearly everything it does, and management is voted on by the general public.
Maybe there shouldn't be any public sec unions allowed. Certainly none of them should be allowed to engage in anything remotely like political activity.

I think black America is being played by the democratic socialists. They have encouraged and enabled their anger in every form of media available.
The media rarely shows white people being killed by officers although it happens just as much as blacks . the media rarely shows a black mass shooter but will show a white shooter for days or weeks. The media rarely shows the beatings of whites at the hands of the black youth, The lack of objectivity is as clear as day. They come up with phrases like ""systemic racism"" in the justice system , but when asked specifically which law is raceist, they cant point out a single one. The left is fanning the flames of anger with the intent to focus on capitalist Americans .They point out every negative and every wrong this country has done, and never pointout its good points.
I believe they are encouraging and channeling the anger of black America against conservative America for the purpose of socializing the United states.I beleive they are being duped into a utopian dream of where man doesnt sin , and people always love each other reguardless of thier skin color. A land where there are no more assholes ,
