Does this exist? (my perfect carry pistol)

So I’m thinking about a new carry pistol and trying to find something that meets my requirements:

Must have requirements:
10 round capacity single stack design
Semi auto
3-3.5”barrel
Chambered in either 9mm/40S&W/45acp

Really really would like requiremen
DA/SA
Decocker
Under barrel rail for light

so far the only thing that has come close is the Glock 43X and maybe a 1911 commander/officers size (would have to be stainless if 1911)

any suggestions or am I searching for something that doesn’t exist.

DA/SA 10 rd in single stack? Don't know of one. I run a HKP30sk in LEM for my carry. Not single stack but my choice. Love this thing. You can get it in DA/SA also..it is 10rds.

With interchangeable backstraps and lateral grip panels, making the majority of grip surface customizable, it may fit your hand like a single stack.

There are discontinued SA/DA Sigs that come close that I'd give a higher recommendation but they are single stack 8+1 and barrels are more like 3.6

It’s too wide as a double stack like my M&P compact. It has to be a single stack to fit my needs.

It has to be single stack width. My shield EZ, Micro9 have the perfect width as a single stack. The problem I have with concealing certain firearms isn’t the length of the barrel/slide as much as I do the width of the frame. My M&P compact is a pain to carry as it is too wide. My buddy got a Glock 43X and the size of it as a single stack is perfect. I’m trying to see if there’s any other options like it, or if it’s the only thing on the market.

Wilson Combat 1911 with ETM 10 rd mags. May be a bit wider and long though. Similarly there are 10rd 9mm mags for the Springfield 1911 EMPs.

The Wilson combat ACP compact model caught my eye but it’s pricey and was only 8 rounds for the 9mm version. It drives me crazy that because one wants a shorter barrel/slide the grip gets shortened as well.

Any semiautomatic is a 10 round capacity with the right magazine.

Surely somebody makes a +1 or +2 baseplate for those.

Well, it doesn't fit any of your ideals any better than the G43X does, but since you say "other options like it" then the SIG P365 XL certainly comes to mind. You'll find many G43X vs. SIG P365 XL articles and videos if you look for them. Here's just one of many such pages.

It's a 1:1 with the G43X in width and is less than a half inch longer. It's no secret that I'm not a huge fan of Glocks personally, but in my opinion the SIG is the better gun. People tend to have have strongly differing opinions of what makes for a good trigger, and then of course ergonomics is probably even more subjective. I personally find the SIG to be superior in both regards; the ergonomics quite significantly so (in my hands anyway). I'd say the SIG has objectively better sights. The Glock is lighter, but I couldn't say how noticeable the difference is. Due to the SIG's weird "not quite single, not quite double" magazine design it can hold 12 rounds (in a free state) with the exact same form factor (though I suppose that doesn't matter much). The SIG though is almost certainty going to be more expensive, perhaps most notably in the cost of magazines.

Neither are my personal choice of carry, but I just bring it up because if you're looking for a direct comparison with the 43X , that's the gun to do it with.

I was not familiar with the P365XL but that seems to line up well with the G43X then. I’m going to have to check it out!

In that ilk, add the older Sig P225, and Sig P6. Their latest in this line was the Sig P225A1 but that too was cancelled (they were highly reviewed and sold like hotcakes but Sig Reps said management determined the market for thin compacts was in higher profit margin tupperware strikers and the remaining metal DA/SA P225A1 single stack was competing with Sigs entries in the Tupperware Striker market) and pandemic pricing for all those great discontinued Sigs is through the roof.

Their new single stack steel carry piece is Single Action, 8 rounds for now, and has no rail AFAIK in the SIG P210A Carry ...

Since you say the da/sa os only a slight requirement the sig 365 meets most of the requirements. Cheap enough as well.

I appreciate all the suggestions and it has given me some guns to research before I make a decision after the holidays. Let me elaborate a bit on my current guns and why my requirements are what they are.

1st carry gun:
Smith and Wesson M&P compact 2.0 in 9mm. I like the aggressive grip texture, trigger is decent enough, slide serrations are nice, grip angle is perfect, slide / barrel length is nice . What I don’t like : Being limited to ten rounds negates the advantage of a double stack design that could normally carry 15 rounds with standard capacity magazines. So all the width and none of the benefit. Makes double stacks pointless to me, plus a double stack prints easily when I’m wearing a t shirt.

what I like : almost all the likes of the M&P compact are the same for the shield EZ 380. Trigger feels better on the EZ 380, slide is super easy to rack plus has nice little extensions so I can get a grip on the slide no matter what.
what I don’t like: limited to 8 rounds and no way to increase mag capacity to 10. I also don’t like how the mag base plate is much wider than the slide itself, so I’m worried when I’m carrying spare mags in a mag holder that I’m going to bump something and break off the base plates. I have thought about upgrading to the shield EZ9 but it’s the same gun with just a different caliber, so all the aforementioned negatives remain.

Kimber Micro9
What I like: grip angle is perfect, I like being able to swap out the grips to suite my style. I like the rounded edges of the frame and slide, barrel /slide length is almost perfect (could be slightly longer) shoots accurately. The gun fits nicely in my hand and conceal carries extremely well.
What I don’t like: it’s finicky on ammo. Runs every type of FMJ I’ve put thru it but only works with two types of hollow points. Grip length of the frame is very short. With 6 round flush fit mags my pinky hangs off completely. I prefer the extended 8 round mags as it gives me closer to a full a grip. Slide is very stiff to rack back and the slide serrations on the back are not very grippy. It’s also not lefty friendly with no ambi safety .

if I could get the Kimber micro 9 with a longer frame that fit 10 round mags flush, had an ambi safety, rail for light, worked reliably with a decent selection of commercial manufacturer hollow points and more aggressive slide serrations, I probably wouldn’t even be looking for a new carry piece.

the da/sa and decocker thing comes from shooting my smith and Wesson 4566. I like that I can carry that with a round in the chamber and the gun decocked so I all have to do is draw and fire like a revolver. I also like da/sa so if I pull the trigger and I get a light primer strike I can immediately pull the trigger again without having to rerack the slide/manually pull the hammer back.
In regards to the light, I have a light mounted on the rail on both the M&P compact 2.0 and shield EZ380 and I like having it equipped.

I'm happy with my P938. I compared it to its pretty boy half sibling kimber micro 9 (good looking gun) but the Sig had ambi safties, more effective slide serrations and was half the price. Unlike my friend's kimber the 938 has been reliable, eats anything, has better sights, and with the Houge Rubber Grips is a wife friendly tame shooting little thing. I've seen custom 8 plus 1 mags for both the Kimber and Sig at a show but I always carry spare mags and often the P938 is my NY reload.

My P938 was under 350 (even after fees and shipping) from a dealer in PA who often blew out P938s and P238s

If magazine capacity is a holdup, you could check out magguts.com. I carry an M&P Shield 9, and I added +2 to a pair of 8 rounders for my spares, and +1 to the 7 rounder that's in the gun while holstered. So I'm a total of 28+1 all the time.
