I think that China and India et al. are doing FAR more damage to the environment than the countries in the West who are being taxed and regulated to death over it. It's extortion.

When the global warming folks start talking turkey with China and India about the millions of tons of pollution they're releasing into the environment every year (and make them liable for it) then we can sit down together.

While I believe we need to be good stewards of our planet and not pollute whenever possible, global warming and climate change is about one thing only - control. There has been plenty of science debunking of the global warning myth. Global temperatures swing on a wide basis overtime but will always return to normal. You may not be old enough to remember the coming ice age crisis of the 80s but this is just another way to keep people uncertain and control how they live.

Charlatans like Gore create more greenhouse gases on one private jet trip than the average family does in a year yet they travel the world constantly. Like @SigLady said, when he changes his lavish lifestyle then we'll talk.

While I understand not wanting to conform to greener policy while the rest of the world and the political elite run wild, I don't agree that climate change is a made up myth.

I also think it may be wildly overstated and used as a political tool. The truth lies somewhere in the middle and I believe to blow it out of proportion to the point which it has been is reckless and removes credibility from an otherwise important issue.

To believe that nothing we're doing is changing the climate of this planet is naive at best. It absolutely is, and it is unfortunate that it has become a political issue because as with any political issue there are two sides at the very extremes of it.. one predicting the end of the world and one denying it entirely.

Yes I am aware of that but the only researchers given credibility are the ones paid for by the gov, UN, Al Gore types and leftist academia, all others are in true liberal fashion demonized and discounted. Hell even after the public outing of the climate change experts intentionally cooking the numbers in their favor they are still given legitimacy.

I don't think anyone wants a dirty environment and we have since the dawn of the industrial revolution come a long way in what we do and how we do it. The way not to do it is by creating a bogus ever changing narrative about man made climate change and using it to enact knee jerk regulations and bans that cause immediate financial harm to real folks and literally destroy lives. This agenda is more about socialist/gov control then it is about clean air. Like was mention by SigLady China and India are absolutely over the top in there disregard for the natural world but the funny thing is you don't see the leftist going after Communist China they only seem to go after the evil capitalist.

If climate change really is a conspiracy then the government doesn't need you to believe it to control you anyways, and nothing anyone can say who does believe in the science will ever convince anyone who disagrees otherwise.

Those of us called "deniers" generally do not deny that the climate is changing. Climate has been changing for as long as the earth has existed. Just look at how many ice ages have come and gone. Each ice age had to be followed by global warming. Man was not around for all the ice ages so he cannot claim credit for causing the warming nor can he be blamed for the loss of the ice for the world's cocktails. Correlation cannot be used as evidence of causation. Just because the rooster crows just before sunrise doesn't mean the rooster caused sunrise.

I sort of agree with you there, meeting with Albore is a no go for me. And Albore staing " we had a constructive meeting" makes me want to vomit. As I stated in another thread, I don't kiss up to any politician, I'm not deaf, dumb and blind.
I'm also not a fan of his authoritarian style regarding private companies, if they can't make a profit they should be allowed to go wherever they need to to be viable.

Why does " climate change " always have to be portrayed as something bad? Sure if you have a Mac Mansion on Hilton Head and the shore line keeps moving closer and closer toward the servants quarters you might cry about climate change.

I call it nature, better yet Mother Nature. Environmental trends have been taking place on this planet eons before mankind stood. I find the impertinent idea that man is a greater force than Mother Nature laughable. The current scheme led by the likes of gore is about taxing the people who can use fossil fuels the most to improve their lives, while filling the coffers of the globalist.

Back to local climate change. Last Christmas Eve here in CNY the temperature was 65 degrees F. The family was out by the fire having a great time when we were ordinarily clustered in the house bumping into one another. I don't think that was bad for anyone. Why can't NY receive less snow and milder temperatures during the winter? Why does that have to be deemed as bad? I thought it was pretty nice and hope to live to see more.
