I made a .69 caliber muzzleloader rifle, and while it is incredibly accurate, off the bench it is not any fun to shoot, off hand where your whole body can help absorb the recoil, it isn't 'too' bad. I cannot even imagine the recoil from a 2 bore cartridge rifle, even at forty pounds.

They "only" go up to a 16 dram (437 grain) charge, but it's a lot lighter weight, hurts to watch!
