Dry Fire Training System

So after the class I took with OnSite I definitely need to hit the range consistently. I do though want to also practice at home doing dry fire. That will help avoid some travel and ammo cost these days. I know there are different laser systems that can be used with ones own gun. I'm up for any recommendations you might have based on your experience with using them. Thanks!

Looked at videos from the Strikeman System as well as MantixX.

I'm serious though, my wife would bug out if I start shooting regularly in the basement.

I've looked into bullet traps for 22s.

Interesting. Doesn't work with a laser I see. Also not available for my Glock.

All it does is reset the trigger without racking the slide each time.

At this point I need visual of my dry fire shots as well as the feedback from the software. If I ever get you as a secret Santa I know what to get now.

The feedback is cool. But just getting reps of sight acquisition and pulling the trigger without moving the sights off target are worthwhile time spent.

I like that it keeps score for you though.

I'll expect a full review after you give it a test drive!

Besides score, it will help me to see shot placement to figure out bad habits, timed shots to see improvement, etc.. All good things for me mentally as well as physically.

I also took an OnSight class recently. I have the MantisX and use it with a laser cartridge and the laser academy software. I do need to take more OnSight classes.

A good video that demos it. I'm pretty sure it demos it. Haven't really seen it in the video though after watching a few times but I'm sure it's in there.

I use Strikeman. Dont love it but it works and gives good feedback. It reall helped me get better with a DA/SA that I was shooting low and left. So theres that. Saved a lot of ammo too!

Saw some pretty negative things recently related to them. They charge you monthly for their software, the software upgrades they made actually caused issues, etc.. There were a number of videos that said they switched from Strikeman to Mantis and there was no comparison. Still, training with one of them is better than none.

I have laser training ammo for 9mm, my 12 gauge, and sirt laser for the ar. Using "crackshot" app. Here it's hooked up to my projector, and I'm about 30' away.

Um, yeah, dry firing with a loaded gun would not be dry firing and would be loud; not to mention, could be messy.

I do dry firing with my handguns all of the time. Watching movies or videos, dry fire for hours and hours....

No need for machines or gadgets.
