Soooo.....
How convenient.Sorry...
Gotta go into work, another double today. No time to explain.
Who is "OnSite"?So after the class I took with OnSite I definitely need to hit the range consistently. I do though want to also practice at home doing dry fire. That will help avoid some travel and ammo cost these days. I know there are different laser systems that can be used with ones own gun. I'm up for any recommendations you might have based on your experience with using them. Thanks!
Looked at videos from the Strikeman System as well as MantixX.
He’s seeing a knock off behind your back Ben. It’s not you, it’s him.Who is "OnSite"?

Either he was Slowpoke Rodriguez or you're pretty good with that thing!
I use a red dot and yes I will be focusing on the target to line up the dot. May eventually get the MantisX. Besides dry fire it seems pretty cool to also use with live fire to analyze your movement.I've had the MatisX 10 for a couple years now. I find it helpful. They have lot of drills built into the app that will help with dry fire motivation.
"Compressed surprise break" in one I like. You hold the gun on target waiting for a randomly timed start signal. Pull the trigger as quick as you can without moving the gun. The sensor is supper sensitive and tracks gun movements very accurately.
As far laser type cartridge go. If you are training with a front sight focus method, I don't think the lasers are any good. You will be moving you eyes and focus to the target to look at were the laser hits. If you are shooting with a target focus method the the laser works well.
The wife and I were going to a match that Gabby was also entered in, my wife wanted to know if she might be able to meet her. As soon as we parked Gabby pulls up right next to us. I said to my wife, pretty good odds you will meet her she right at your door.after watching Gabby .. now your cardio is up and its time to dry fire train ..
really .. she has range vides of carrying cannon balls .. drops them and then shoots .. and other stuff .. she's a top shooter
I hate the subscription model. ‘You will own nothing and love it.” I just use the base version. It does what it has to do and I dont miss the “upgrades.”Saw some pretty negative things recently related to them. They charge you monthly for their software, the software upgrades they made actually caused issues, etc.. There were a number of videos that said they switched from Strikeman to Mantis and there was no comparison. Still, training with one of them is better than none.
I have laser training ammo for 9mm, my 12 gauge, and sirt laser for the ar. Using "crackshot" app. Here it's hooked up to my projector, and I'm about 30' away.
I use a p229 and pt92 with the lasers. Figure I get just a bit more trigger discipline using da's. The projector was a little bit of a pia getting calibrated.I have a similar setup in my basement, though I also went for a laser SIRT pistol so I wouldn't have to rack every time. My projector isn't the highest brightness so the app wasn't always picking up the shots... AND I found out the clicking of the SIRT attracts the cats, then they see the laser and go after it. Guess I could train them to attack intruders but :effort:
I don't use it nearly as much as I should, been thinking of selling the SIRT. I also have a DryFireMag for my M&P but it doesn't work with a laser. I thought I read about a combo product being under development.
The DryFireMag works well, obviously it feels different than your regular trigger but so would the SIRT.
Yes, they did. Works great.@Dr. Evil Did they fix the software issue for your LG phone? Laser Academy is probably the best of the “smartphone” specific applications. It’s well thought out and concentrates on serious exercises. They have several “courses” which are the meat and potatoes of the application - you run a series of 10-12 lessons on different targets and you’re given a rating at the end.
plus it’s pay once and you’re done.
You could also try LASRX. It’s a smartphone compatible web-based application. It’s expensive compared to
LA but it’s much more flexible and allows for you to create practice scenarios of your own. I think it’s $120 but again, buy once and done.
