I planted a patch of radishes two weeks ago because some rain was forecast. Since then, I've had one ten-minute rain shower, and nothing has sprouted. How long will the seeds remain viable like this? Will they sprout if we get some wet weather maybe next week?

How is the soil and sunlight? My neighbor and I disced up and planted the path that runs in the woods behind our houses (path is on my property, but we both hunt, so mutually beneficial for both of us). Soil is acidic and there isn't much sunlight. Experiment was a semi success. Some sprouted, but didn't last long. Need way more sunlight and probably a ton or so of lime. If the conditions of what you are planting are met, it will grow well. As far as your question, my experience has been that once seeds have gotten wet, they need consistent rain/watering. They may survive and overwinter if they haven't sprouted, bit if they sprout in spring, they won't be very useful for next deer season.

Agree with the above poster if they started to sprout you’re toast, if not they will likely sprout but not great with how humid it’s been.

Seeds can be planted in both the spring and the fall, but sowing should be suspended when warm temperatures arrive (70 degrees or higher); this causes radishes to bolt, making them essentially useless. Otherwise, radishes are one of the easiest vegetables to grow.

After three weeks of no results due to virtually no rain, I reseeded on Monday because the weather forecast looked promising. Got a couple of good thunderstorms and by Friday I had sprouts everywhere. Don't know if these are the new or old seeds or a combination. Anyhow, all is well. Looking forward to drawing in all the big deer from miles around, and the Daikon radishes make great table fare.
