Drying Stainless Steel Media

How do you guys dry your stainless steel media after you wet tumble your brass. I took a board and put a 120 galvinized finnish nails a little ways in the wood to put the brass on to dry with a fan blowing on the brass.

I then drained the media in a gallon bucket and took paper towels and tried to get as much moisture out with new paper towels. I'd like to get the media completely dry for storage.

I don't have one but from what I read on the high road most people don't dry it. The people that do usually just lay it out on a cookie sheet and let mother natures take care of it.

I don't use ss media but I use a window screen that has the plastic screening to dry my brass

That's my method.

I'm a recent convert to wet tumbling (Frankford Arsenal drum tumbler). I use 5lbs of pins, 9lbs of brass, and water with a few squirts of Dawn liquid soap and a bit of Lemishine. The results have been amazing. And....no more toxic dust.

I just leave the lid off the tumbler and let everything air dry.

I have an awesome big dawg tumbler set up. I live it. Holds like 25 pounds of media....

if its good stainless steel it wont rust . just toss some wet stuff aside and check in a week for rusting ..

I also bought some cheap screen replacement material at Home Depot and made circular inserts to put on the trays so that smaller cases (like 9mm and .380) don't fall through the grates. After 2 hours at 160F, the brass is quite dry.

I use a dehydrator too, and anything beyond 15 minutes is too much.

Man you guys are impatient. I just dump the brass on a tray and let it air dry overnight. I run clean brass for a few days in a row and have enough for a few months of reloading.

The wood with the Finnish nails worked good for drying the brass, I set it in front of a fan to dry.

The media i uses paper towels to dry it as much as I could then put the bucket on it,s side on the far side of the wood drying rack. It dryed it out ok.

I,m going to pick up some window screen and make up a little drying rack for the media next time I use it.

I made up a coupe of wood drying racks out of a piece of 2x4 with wood dowels for pistol, each block holds a hundred cases. I need to make up a few of then with thinner & longer wood dowels for the rifle brass.
The ones I made I put polyurethane on them so and water won,t soak in to the wood.
