Early archery season mosquito solution.

I was sitting in my bow stand over the weekend with approximately 11,000 mosquitos swarming me, thinking “There’s got to be another way...”
I’ve tried Thermacell in the past with zero success - I found that the slightest breeze rendered the Thermacell unit useless.

I did some searching, and found this:
Insect repellent with fresh earth scent. I usually spray down with earth scent cover scent anyway, so I thought I’d try it.
I’ll find out this weekend how it works. I’m optimistically hopeful.

Weird thing is I just never get bugged by misquitos, even though I hunt from Oct 1 on. We've not had a frost yet, though. Maybe in prior years they get knocked out by that.

Just like there is no crying in baseball, there are no mosquitoes in deer hunting.

Seriously, I believe when it’s warm enough for mosquitoes it’s too warm for much deer activity as they will wait for cooler night time temps to move and feed.

However if you are limited in which days you can hunt, this seems like a possible solution

I’d hunt if temperatures were in the triple digits.

On a serious note, evidenced by my trail cameras, deer are active in my food plot round the clock, bucks and does alike. It’s an awesome setup for deer - it’s an old log landing surround by swamp and old beaver meadows. The deer come and go all hours of the day and night, as it’s secluded and a short distance from bedding areas and travel corridors.

repel works great. I use it in the "north country" all the time. Be careful WHICH Repel you use. They do have one that is strictly for clothing and equipment, do not spray it on your skin. I found it at Wally-world a few years ago, but have been unable to find it in awhile.

I also spray the back of my (canvas) hammock before taking a nap in the woods. You can hear the bugs and bees and flies buzzing all around you, but they never land. Repel is far better than "Off" or "cutters" as far as Im concerned
