So instead of an actual gun you get a coupon good for the the price of a gun only to be used at whatever FFL they're working with (if you really don't want the gun maybe they could buy ammo or cleaning supplies with it or whatever). I'd like to try and see them ban that.

This has been discussed a couple of times already. The article is crap. The bill, as written, would only prohibit handguns as raffle prizes.

Does not effect rifles and shotguns because they didn't read their own definition of firearm.
Section 1. Subdivision 2 of section 195-d of the general municipal 2 law, as amended by section 13 of part MM of chapter 59 of the laws of 3 2017, is amended to read as follows:
2. With the exception of bell jars, coin boards, seal cards, merchant dice boards and raffles, every winner shall be determined and every prize shall be awarded and delivered within the same calendar day as that upon which the game was played.
No alcoholic beverage or firearm, as defined in section 265.00 of the penal law, shall be offered or given as a prize in any game of chance.
10 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

This is exactly how I took it the only thing as written its banning is pistols and revolvers most of the rest are allready illegal,
