Okay, I'm confused, help me out. I know that there needs to be one member of the house and one member of the senate who object for the joint session to stop and for each house to separate and debate the objection. But both the house and the senate need to agree the objection is valid inorder to nullify the election results and have the house vote for the next president.
Yeah that’s my understanding too. As great as this is, I don’t think there is the votes to go to one state one vote unfortunately, unless I am missing something. I think they will object, and after their 2 hour recess, they will just let the electoral college vote continue as normal. It’s like slowing the executable, again, unless I am mistaken.Okay, I'm confused, help me out. If that were to happen, then yes, one state one vote and the gop has the majority. However, I think people aren't realizing that no matter how many gop in the house object, there aren't enough votes in the house to nullify. The senate may, but the house won't.
I think people misunderstand that even though there may be multiple reps objecting, that doesn't automatically mean it goes to one state on vote. Both chambers have to agree, right?
I hope I'm wrong and these objections make a difference. I just don't see how we get to one state on vote.Yeah that’s my understanding too. yesIsn't the vote in house by delegate (i.e., state) not congressman?

My head is spinning.Here
If both the senate and house agree. If there isn't concensus, then the electoral packets certified by the states hold. That scenario would trigger the one State one vote outcome.
Oh, you mean the same constitution the democrats continue to wipe their ass with? Got it. Doesn't matter how much it's read if it isn't followed by the people elected to uphold it.It’s not that long. It’s (relatively) easy to read. And its kind of interesting. You guys should give to a look-see!

I don’t agree with the dem’s trampling of the Constitution, but I think we should have some familiarity with it before we start debating its more obscure provisions amongst ourselves.Oh, you mean the same constitution the democrats continue to wipe their ass with? Please tell me where I am wrong. I am on your side and want the same outcome you do.I don’t agree with the dem’s trampling of the Constitution, but I think we should have some familiarity with it before we start debating its more obscure provisions amongst ourselves.
I’m sorry. I wasn’t saying you’re wrong. Just clarifying. Please tell me where I am wrong. I am on your side and want the same outcome you do.
Jefferson counted the votes as VP that made him PresidentYou left that out the batshit crazy theory of the case, which goes something like this- "the Vice President of the United States has a legal, Constitutional right and indeed, duty, to single-handidly decide whether he himself should stay in office for a second term."
I thought I had seen everything from these people but wow. This is like straight up crack smoking nuts.
Does each objection receive 2 hours of debate? My understanding is that the objections each of these Representatives and Senators record are not broad. They are objections of the electorates from each of the challenged States, ie: Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, etc. Challenging those electors and then the two hour debate can negate those electors from being counted, negating either candidate from reaching the required 270 electoral votes.
That scenario would trigger the one State one vote outcome.

It's all crazy.“The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two Persons, of whom one at least shall not be an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves. And they shall make a List of all the Persons voted for, and of the Number of Votes for each; which List they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the Seat of the Government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate. The President of the Senate shall, in the Presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the Certificates, and the Votes shall then be counted. The Person having the greatest Number of Votes shall be the President, if such Number be a Majority of the whole Number of Electors appointed; and if there be more than one who have such Majority, and have an equal Number of Votes, then the House of Representatives shall immediately chuse by Ballot one of them for President; and if no Person have a Majority, then from the five highest on the List the said House shall in like Manner chuse the President. But in chusing the President, the Votes shall be taken by States, the Representation from each State having one Vote; A quorum for this Purpose shall consist of a Member or Members from two thirds of the States, and a Majority of all the States shall be necessary to a Choice. In every Case, after the Choice of the President, the Person having the greatest Number of Votes of the Electors shall be the Vice President. But if there should remain two or more who have equal Votes, the Senate shall chuse from them by Ballot the Vice President.”
I’m no constitutional scholar like Bathhouse Barry, bit it seems to me the only path to victory at this point for Trump would be if enough states either decertify or fail to deliver their electoral college ballots in time.
Unlikely to be sure, but none of this has gone how anyone expected so far, so who knows.
It would be friggin’ awesome if the delegations from Georgia, Pennsylvania and Arizona took their states’ ballots and lit them on fire on the floor of congress. Epic!!!!![]()
