I just ordered a set with blue tooth. So along with being able to converse with people at the range, I will be able to add some diversion, in the form of music, from that most loathsome of summer job's, mowing the lawn!

No not at all, work very well indoor shooting range even someone shooting larger than 9mm really mufflers sound very well. I usually keep volume down very low

Our razor XVs work very well.
.223 pistol at the indoor range at the firing pin is no problem.
Even .50BMG they are fine for (outdoors of course LOL)
The MSA I linked above are the most comfortable ear pro I have ever used. They have gel cups which seal around the ear nicely. I can wear them for 8 hours straight without them pinching my head. Whatever brand you pick make sure you can get gel cups for that brand.

I just bought a set of AKT1 Sport Electronic Earmuffs and Love em! Best/most comfortable I have ever owned. I received the Howard Leight Impact as a gift and they were my 1st electronic muffs,, liked them a lot and if you never try a better pair they work awesome. I wanted a different set so I bought the Walker set, much better but no auto shut off. I have gone through multiple sets of batteries, my fault but I have replaced the HL ones maybe once in like 8yrs! Anyways we had a fundraiser at our local club so there were multiple guys shooting at a time & the AKT1s were/are the best I have owned and would recommend them big time. I typically wear ear puffs also and did at 1st but then tried them without and they still worked outstanding. Check em out guys,, a good product. AKT1 Sport Electronic Earmuffs, Hearing Protection for Shooting Sports – AKT1 Sport, LLC. I paid $90 bucks shipped myself but looks like they have Open Box ones now. Hmmm, maybe I'll get a 2nd pair!

Well those will be bad-ass that's for sure,, congrats !! I also saw these ( Liberator® HP 2.0 Hearing Protection | Safariland ) and was thinking about them but then saw a Youtuber do a review on the AKT1 set so I ended up getting them and I am very happy with them. I also bought a 2nd set @ $68 shipped for an open box set.
