Hell, the electrical generation is a much smaller problem than the transmission.
Wait until the environmentalists catch wind of the massive electrical towers that will have to be run through wetlands, forests, and skylines. Then the digging to bury services .... and the toxic manufacturing waste disposal ...
It will take a century or more to build the high power transformers needed just for the United States.
Who is going to restart industries that do not exist to mine the metals and fabricate wire / conduit / towers / connectors, build switchgear, breakers, or instrumentation with supply chains for volumes needed that may take generations.
Politicians and eco terrorists are some of the dumbest creatures crawling on this earth.

It is completely impossible - the US and Europe have very few of the raw materials needed for this, even if they intended to do it.
