I love hiking into the range in the winter with the wheel gun and 10# of .38.Damn!
Yes, the .38 is still special.
Primer pocket cleaner. Grungy primer pockets. You trim pistol cases?
Full 148gr wadcutters and 158gr semi-wadcutters. Semi wad cutters get set almost like regular jacketed bullets. My full wadcutters look like this with a defined crimp area. Obviously specific powder and powder weigh for the lead vs jacketed. The lead is for plinking and target, small garden pest. Targets look like a paper punch hit them.Just wondering do you use any wadcutters?
Sounds like expanding the mouth more would help. In the future you could always run them through a second time to expand the mouth even if primed just no powder. So I use a similar double-ended wadcutter (maybe the same, but HiTek coated). I find them pretty annoying to load. I place them on the case mouth and they either tip askew or fall off the case when I'm loading them. I only loaded half a box out of frustration.
Is there some trick to loading these bullets, or does it sound like I just didn't bell these cases enough and should bell more? Never had a problem like that with any other bullet/case combo, but I've never reloaded full wadcutters or .38 Spl before.
