Nearly 75 percent of guns used to commit crimes and recovered by New York State law enforcement come from out of state, according to a new report by the state’s attorney general’s office.

The study, released Tuesday, also found that close to 90 percent of all handguns used in crimes and recovered in New York the weapon of choice for violent criminals originate in other states, Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman’s office said in a Tuesday news release.

The report, “Target on Trafficking,” and an accompanying interactive Web tool show how New York’s strong gun laws are undermined by lax laws in “iron pipeline” states, the release said.

The Leftist Progressives insist on unswerving fealty to an all-powerful, all-intrusive, central government. They believe that only through a strong central government and a slate of pervasive laws instructing individuals on how to live their lives can society be perfected. Therefore, an individual cannot do anything beneficial on their own. Insignificance of the individual is central to their entire belief structure. As an extension, since an individual cannot do anything good, neither can an individual do anything bad. For if an individual could do evil on their own, then the logical converse would imply that an individual could do good on their own. That concept undermines their entire philosophy. So, if something bad happens in society, it cannot be due to an individual...it must be due to some external force or object. In this case, guns. The guns are the problem. They must be. Otherwise, individuals would be responsible for doing bad things. Then, individuals would also be logically expected to be able to do good things. That, in the end, cannot ever be allowed lest it undermine overbearing institutional hegemony.
