Meh to my datings, you get the point (or not) it's still stupid and never enforced lol. I've had my full carry since 1995 and never was told of not being able to purchase a firearm with more then 10 rounds?? Only since Safe garbage has it become "rule of law" kinda what I meant.

As for the National Reciprocity law, if it does pass, even the fools in NYC will have to abide by it. There will be no exceptions.

Ending sanctuary cities and the statewide 10rd limit are two different matters of law. The Feds will "end" sanctuary cities by witholding related funds from municipalities which play that game. As for gun laws, that tactic is unavailable. What funds could the Fed deny? If they aren't tied to guns, they'd lose in court.

Now the courts could end it on Constitutional grounds, or maybe a deal could be struck wherein the Fed would take over gun prosecutions for all felons, but I don't see any other way for the Fed to intervene legally in state laws. Taking over prosecutions is definitely a possibility as that is already part of the law, it's just routinely ignored.

As Goperfect said, if national reciprocity becomes federal law, the city would have to follow it. Arrest could be made but the law would be an affirmative defense, as LEOSA is. NYC could arrest a cop from another state for carrying a gun within the city, but it would result in a lawsuit and declined prosecution before the ink was even dry on the arrest paperwork. No two ways about it. It happened when the law was new but by now anti-gun jurisdictions have fallen in line because they have no choice.

LEOSA has provided the legal framework which will be used for the coming National Reciprocity law, mark my words. I know it invokes hatred from non-LEO's, but you'll appreciate it for having tested the waters when our newly pro-gun government passes a law for all civilians.

No hate in my heart, just a disgust for law makers with no sense of constitution, the divisiveness it causes and a certain feeling of entitlement it bestows on the undeserving. I have family that will benefit from this absurdity, they know my feelings and agree.

I agree with GP's responses except for the ten round limit when it comes to reciprocity. Previous bills that failed always said that you must follow the firearms laws of the state that you travel to.

IE magazine capacities, features like threaded pistol barrels, hollow point ammunition, ect.

It would specifically have to be written in the bill that state laws do not apply to out of state visitors. I just don't see that happening.

As far as national reciprocity, The states must comply with the the federal constitution and not abridge it. Hell in this state the legislature must comply with the STATE Constitution and not abridge it.
