After some thought I'd say I'm supportive of this, if it's voluntary and educational and nature and not political/compulsory.
While I'm a firm believer that people who want to commit suicide will find a way to do it no matter what (if not a gun then a knife, rope, pills, gas oven, bridge, etc.) if you know a loved one is in crisis you should make sure that YOUR firearms are locked up and secure while they heal and get the help they deserve.
I'm less sold on the idea that you should take away another's guns because they have threatened suicide (see reason above).
