Eyes wide open

so yesterday something finally clicked!

shooting with both eyes open not only worked well but I swear I shot better.

I hope it sticks!

Both eyes open for quick/defensive stuff.

One eye closed for really focusing/bullseye stuff.

Honestly i was practiced both eyes open as well yesterday

At first it took longer to get my eyes to focus on the front sight, however after about a half hour of shooting it felt a lot more comfortable and my followup shots were easier to put in the same spot.

I am going to keep shooting like this from now on

I was shooting plates at 50 feet and until yesterday I would lose focus on transitions.
I need to get back during the week and do some more try to cement this in place

I was shooting a lot closer, 7-15 yards but still noticed quite a difference, i wont have the opportunity to shoot until next Saturday where I am taking onsight's class.
I plan to do a lot of dry fire practice this week with my targets at different ranges it different lighting and backdrop color to help get my eyes used to focusing on the front sight
I noticed too back when i would shoot metal about 50 yards away with both eyes open with a 45 I could watch the bullet fly, so i would think this will greatly help with distance shots as well and being able to adjust POI

I haven't been able to shoot handgun with both eyes open yet. I can't focus and see two front sight posts. It's weird because I'm able to shoot both eyes open with a rifle and ret dot.

I have a Vortex 1-8x scope on my AR that I have shot the 1x at close range (5-25yards) both eyes open, but never anything off the bench. I have an astigmatism in my right eye which makes it difficult for me to see my reticle some days so I am hoping this helps with that issue

When I shoot Benchrest matches I have one eye on the target thru the scope and the other watching my wind flags! Then I close the wind flag eye when I shoot.

My hardest thing was both eyes open during g strong side-support side transitions. I'm extremely right-side and right-eye dominant, and it was a real struggle.

Ive been shooting with both eyes pen since i was a kid so its natural for me. Although being in my 40s i now have to close one eye when trying to be more precise and it feels weird.

That's my struggle too. I basically have to tilt my head so much that it's practically one eyed shooting anyway. It is better, but it's very difficult for me.
