FABDefense opposite mag coupler

I bought this because i thought it was clever and wanted to support a company that hasnt completely abandoned new yorkers with our ridiculous laws. Sadly, I CANNOT recommend this to anyone. One side would engage the bolt catch 50% of the time the other side, NEVER! Not only is there this problem but it also had problems feeding. Every other round I had to charge firearm. I emailed fab defense last week- haven't gotten a reply yet!

Anyone have a different experience with this product?

Also- how is FAB defense as a company? Because I was thinking about getting their buttstock that holds an extra 10 rd mag in it but after this experience I'm thinking twice about it.

I would disassemble and reassemble. The problem could be the spring is not seated correctly.

I have taken them apart and I don't see anything wrong with the follower and spring. Yesterday was the second weekend in a row I have tried this mag. Yesterday I wanted to see if there was still a feed problem with better ammo- and there still was

Fab Defense is a solid company and so are their products. For the past couple weeks they have been on national holiday. The GL Mag you referenced is a well thought out product. You can reload without coming off your gun. The State Police for PA and NE ordered it to outfit their patrol rifles.

They make very good equipment. Their polymers are very good. It is hard to say but they feel stronger
than magpul (kind of beefed up) . The provide their military with stocks, magazines and all sort of stuff.

This is a known problem easy to resolve. Take them a part and with a small file remove any burrs that might catch but do it
so slightly. This happens with other brands and firearms too. Once they get a bit conditioned and looser then they will work
flawlessly.
For the AR there is nothing like the standard GI / stanag Colt magazine. These with modern followers are utterly reliable
as they follow the more traditional loose fit approach vs. the latest modern that might not might not work well depending
on the lower and upper tolerances.

I had a bunch of pmags once but sold them all to my buddy because I discovered that putting those simple, green "self lubricating" anti tilt followers into my G.I. mags made them super reliable. And best of all they fit in ALL ARs.
