They mean *North Castle, UK.

America would never prohibit possession of "5 or more" firearms.

(Don't care if it's a real place or not. Sounds UK-ish though. *My reporting is for entertainment purposes only.)

Whoever wrote the story is a dimwit. "North Castle Police arrested the three who had no permits to legally purchase or possess firearms, and seized 48 guns, which were found in several rooms in the house. At least 15 of the guns were loaded."

since when do you need a permit for rifles/ shotguns in Westchester? The 5 firearm BS is false too. You can't have a loaded gun in your own house (self defense)? This writer is a retard.

The family members' arrests were a result of an investigation by the North Castle Police Department, the Westchester County Department of Public Safety, the Westchester County Department of Public Safety’s Real Time Crime Center, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.

The case is before Judge Anne Minihan in Westchester County Court, and is being prosecuted by the Violent Criminal Enterprise Bureau of the Trials and Investigations Division.

So... Is this an extension of the "Vehicle" law assumption of guilt. That all who live on premises be charged? Agree, what initiated the "Probable Cause" that would result in a warrant being issued. How does the entire family get charged? There's some strange shit here... Maybe they pissed a neighbor off who had knowledge of their stash, as always, loose lips sink ships! Or was electronic measures used to track purchases, etc?

Will be interesting to learn of any particulars, if the public ever does. Worse thing that happens is they cut a deal! Just sayin... Hopefully they have the means to hire a great attorney and Fight for their Rights!

The arbitrary reference to "collaboration" is troubling... Of course, reliant upon the writers ability to use responsible journalism and actually report the facts as known. Here being obfuscated... By intent? Or just lax effort...?

I find it interesting that I believe all are being charged because of their residence, access (not locked, etc)... An assumption of course because I'm sure when the LE arrived, I would assume those there weren't standing there IN POSSESSION of said firearms. So it's an amazing stretchhhhhhhhh here. Leaving the thought that something else set this off... But this information is absent.

Counting the days until I vacate this State... Counting the days ;)

I was screaming about this in the Pataki, NYS 2000 AWB, back then.It mirrored the Fed AWB.

YES, IT INCLUDED POSSESSION OF 5 OR MORE FIREARMS............

I pointed this out even to my Assembly Person AND PLENTY OF GUNOWNERS, but was told that I had simply misinterpreted the law..........BULLSHIT...........is is clearly unconstitutional, not only on its face, but will obviously be tossed and not prosecuted.

IT APPARENTLY HAS NOT BEEN USED UNTIL TODAY.....................BUT IS IT ON THE BOOKS...LIKE THE MORE THAN 7 ROUNDS LAW. This crazy provision, does not appear in the revised 2013 safe act, so there it is...........but was never recinded.

Loaded guns? Safe Storage violations on top of it all? Not mentioned.......... Unregistered assault weapons? Most likely,YEP.

Hell, I have ten registered assault weapons on my NYS AW license alone, and more than ten handguns on my PP.

Possession of more than 5 guns is illegal, with NYS authorization permits for them all?
WHO IS USING TOO MUCH POT?

Are loaded mags, ready to shove into a gun illegal? NO LOADED MAGS?
WHOSE ON DRUGS IN THAT BURG?

Who did what? Likely the 25 years old kid, with a record, who probably built a ghost gun.............

The apparent contradiction is in the NYS definition of a firearm.

Pistols reguire a pistol permit and are NOT a firearm. Same with shotguns, rifles...they are not firearms...........
Pistols and rifles are not firearms..........only "other" category weapons, machine guns, and ghost guns are firearms.
Registered AW's are not firearms..........NYS says you need a permit to own a firearm.........unless they are banned.......... or registered........the new semi law is a gray area.............no record is kept and grandfathered ownership is legal......................but cannot be proven.

Ammo may be a 'firearm" soon enough..and need a permit.
