What's the farthest you've shot your 9mm carbine accurately?

The most I've done given what I have access to was about 125 yards. I had a 100 yard range to myself and was able to back up about 25 yards. I was still accurate enough at that range hitting a 8 inch circle.

Check out this zero I found below. It's supposed to be flat within an inch or so out to 100 yards. Zeroing at 25 yards, I'm pretty much right on at 100.

115gr 9mm Parabellum, (not 124gr 9mm NATO for this one.)

Recommend you zero at 25 yards. With this zero the bullet is no more than an inch from line of sight (the dot or your iron sights) from about 15 yards to 100 yards. That is the bullet is under [inside, not lower] the dot at all times. You only need to hold "up a dot" at 125 yards and up 2 at 150. Comparison of 25 yard and 50 yard BSZs are below:

With a 25 yard zero your bullet peaks at 60 yards and is less than 1-1/2 inch above line of sight. Any target closer than 100 yards the bullet will strike somewhere within the 3.5 or 4MOA dot if you do your part.

I don't like the 50 yard zero because the bullet is always low and is dropping like a stone past 75 yards. You'll have to hold up a dot at 100 yards and don't have any midrange advantage.

Zeroing at 100 yards the bullet peaks at 2" above line of sight and is otherwise close to the 25 yard zero -- but a hassle to keep walking down range to compute the group size.

Try zeroing the iron sights, then the CCO (M68/Aimpoint) at 25 yards. It's critical to zero with both eyes open with the CCO as that's how you'll shoot it in the field. Note it's important to really measure group centers because the difference at between zeros isn't much at 25 yards.

I don't know about that but I did this 25 yard zero with both 115 and 124 gr and was dead on at 100.

I can't test it out. The grumpy old guy who is in charge of range maintenance took out the 25 yard target stands because he got mad that people were shooting shotguns with shot at them.

My 9mm M1 carbine can hit a man sized target at 200 yards with 147gr +p. Bench rested iron sights I was getting 8-10" groups at 200 with147gr...forgatta-bout it with 115gr bulk ammo at 200..terrible.

Not a carbine but CZ scorpion 9mm in sbr config 7.5 barrel 100 yards max accurately and taking my time. 124 gr bb fmj. Groups were palm size. Aimpoint red dot zeroed for 50. Anything beyond 100 was all over the place.
Was told to zero to at least 100 for longer distance but have yet to retry.

I thought so too and you aren't the first one to say that. At first I hated the look of the Thordsen but got it to keep function.

After I painted it, it looked better to me and I got used to it. It started looking more hunting rifle like I guess. In 13 years when I move away to Florida, I'm going to keep it that way with the goofy stock just to have a conversation piece at the range and as a reminder.

Don't have a 9mm carbine, I gots a 45, 41, 357 but no 9mm.
Marlin Camp Carbine .45, the rest are Henrys and a Marlin 1894FG
45 I have shot out to 100 yards on paper, 41 out to 200 on a 12x12 steel plate, 357 has only gone out to 100 so far.
The 45 has a red dot the others are iron sights.

If we consider the 300 BLK a pistol caliber I have a few of those too. LMAO

Only about a hundred yards and accuracy was fine even with just a Red Dot. But work has been so crazy on this contract I haven't had a chance to do any shooting in months now.

With a 25 yd zero you would be almost 10 inches low at 100yds. with normal 1300FPS out of a carbine.

I don't know how he got those numbers, but you would need to be over 1800FPS at 25 yds to do it.
And at that velocity, the 9mm shoots flat to 25 yds. At 60yds, it is almost 1 1/2" below line of sight.
Not happening.

I was talking about the ballistics of the bullet, he was talking about sighting irons or optics with a 2 MOA dot 2.5" above the bore.
It makes sense now. Although sighting at 20 yds would give you a PBR about 13 yds further.
But, that would mess up the whole 25-50-75-100 yd standard.

Are those M1 9mm carbines a quality gun? Chiappa Firearms - M1-9 CARBINE Never heard of that outfit, but they cost less than a used camp gun and way less that what you have Will.
