I forgot about this bullshit list of naughty kids. It will be interesting to see if I get a delay at some point. I have never received a delay or denial ever and my checks always come back within mere minutes.

Not knocking you. I understand time is valuable.
With that said, 10 mins is not terribly long. Is Jared an expert? Well, what I do know is he is retired LEO from Mass. He has devoted countless hours to fighting for the 2nd amendment and the support of it. He's also attended numerous related events. He educates all he can and he is what you might call a watch dog of our constitutional right to bear arms. His vids are usually pretty short. A 10 min vid being of one of his longer.
I don't watch every one of his vids, but when I do, I watch it to the end and smash that like button. It helps support his channel and the blowtube algorithms.
We need more men like him in our community speaking out publicly.

I’ll break it down for you. If you get delayed or denied your address is now required for the 4473 and sent to the FBI. The FBI then sends that info to local PD for investigations. So essentially if you get denied or delayed you could expect a police visit.

That’s very worrisome. I have children, dogs, and a wife.
Thankfully in many states you can still transact with non prohibited persons face to face and skip the Gestapo seal of approval. This sounds like a drastic overreach and one that neither the FBI or local departments are staffed to handle. Flood the system, buy more guns!!!

In many states if you have a CCW you can skip NICS altogether.
The theory being that you have already been background checked, and if you did anything to become a prohibited person they would have revoked the CCW.
So, the CCW is sufficient proof that you would pass NICS if it were run.

I was delayed once about two years ago. The folks at the gun store told me it was happening to a lot of people but most of the time the check was answered with proceed after a day or so .
What I wonder is how local law enforcement will handle this new burden on them and are they under any obligation to investigate a delay that’s followed by a proceed response ? The investigation for a denial is one thing but what’s the point in calling for an investigation for a mere delay that’s subsequently an approval?

That's how Utah is. From what I understand here DPS (department of public safety) runs background checks frequently on ccw holders. So NICS isn't needed. The ffl still holds your 4473, but it don't get checked with the fbi.

This is exactly how FTF transactions are conducted in OH, for example. Ohio code only requires a reasonable belief that the other party is not a prohibited person… this requirement is satisfied beyond any doubt with a CWP (which in OH is also considered a government issued photo ID).

In my area, I doubt the NYSP or Sheriff would do a home visit and if they do a search they would not bother.
The last two times FBI visited my house, they were very careful, polite, and cautious. Funny stories for another time.
