This is all bullshit. I’ve spoken to many places that make food for us to eat and they can’t get the supplies they need to make food for us that is safe because the government mandated all these supplies can only go the medical industry. Do I get it yes but they won’t even sell to these places if they have it. You don’t think these places are marking these supplies up? 700 times No likely not.
I get it 100% that these are crazy unprecedented times but if food manufactures can’t get gloves and masks to make the food we eat safe or to protect the workers from getting sick a lot of people will starve.
Im sure a food manufacturer would have bought some of these masks off this guy. Also don’t kid yourself the government is lying to you there are food shortages and if this gets worse the food shortages will get worse. There’s only so much social distancing you can accommodate at a food manufacturer. Also only so many people standing around doing nothing at a food manufacturer so it’s not like you can cut down your work force. Food manufacturer don’t make buildings and space out equipment large enough to play football in between them. Same as they don’t have 10 extra guys standing around doing nothing. Simple economics there.
The pace I used to work at they had 3-4 people in a 6 foot circumstance and there is no way to change that and make it efficient. Change that to 1 person per 6 foot circumstance and the efficiency rate drops to half or a third. That equals a food shortage.
I’m just waiting for a week or so from now to have all the fruit tree blooms open then a cold snap and have the blossoms all die. No blossoms no fruit. Some of my trees buds will likely crack today or tomorrow. Then Friday it will snow. I doubt it will get cold enough to kill them but what does next week bring. Same thing happened last year. The pollination rate sucked because it was so rainy and cold all year no bees out when fruit tree flowers were out.
I think more troubles are to come and don’t kid yourself.

Eh, the history of Madison Square Garden involves more than one move, and the original Penn Station was destroyed for the current MSG to be built. A lot of NYC residents would fully agree with moving MSG again to correct that past mistake. I don't think the Dolans actually own it anyway. Isn't it a long term lease?

That’s not the point if the residents would fully agree with moving MSG for penn station. Its also not MSG’s fault NYS made that past mistake. I’m sure many mistakes were made but that doesn’t mean we can just take their property. It’s very likely MSG and other places put their buildings or businesses there because penn station is there and brings people to their businesses making them more profitable. It was likely a strategic move on their part.
Let’s flip this the other way. The Tesla plant in Buffalo is likely a huge mistake on NYS part. They have $750 million then another 456 million to Telsa to build that plants. Tesla hasn’t made one single solar panel there and has done nothing with it. I live just about 20 minutes from there and I know no one that works there. Can we go back and say hey now you owe us $1.25 billion because it’s not what we thought it was going to be? No and rightly so.
The problem I have here is that NYS said hey we want to buy this property from MSG and others. These companies said no. Nys didn’t like that response and hasn’t kept up Penn Station so now they are saying it’s a hazard and we can just take privately owned property. I know they have to be compensated but it likely won’t work in the private companies favor or they would have accepted NYS offer.
My other problem is you and I don’t get to have that same right and rightly so. So if we don’t get to have these rights why do we except that the government has these rights? What if you owned property back in the day in a shitty area and sold it for $5,000-$10,000 now the area is revitalized and that same property is worth $125,000 you can’t just go take that property back if the new owners say no. It’s happening right now in Buffalo where I live and private citizens can’t take back property they sold 5-10 years ago for pennies on the dollar. Some house were literally sold for $3,500-$5,000 that are now worth $150,000 plus because the medical campuses moved in there and now doctors and nurses are moving in that area. Conversely when they took children’s hospital out of its former location many businesses closed due to no more people traffic.

Creating Ethanol uses more energy than it gives back when burned.

A Brooklyn man claiming to be infected with the coronavirus coughed on FBI agents who were investigating him for hoarding medical supplies, the US Attorney’s Office said Monday.
Baruch Feldheim, 43, is facing charges of assault and making false statements to the feds on Sunday outside his Borough Park home where he allegedly peddled and stored massive amounts of N95 respirator masks, federal officials said.
Feldheim is also accused of price-gouging. On March 18, he’s suspected of selling a New Jersey doctor about 1,000 of the masks for $12,000, a markup of roughly 700 percent, authorities said.
The accused fraudster also directed another doctor to an Irvington, NJ, auto repair shop to pick up another order. There, the doctor reported to investigators that Feldheim was allegedly hoarding enough medical supplies “to outfit an entire hospital.”
The materials included hand sanitizers, Clorox wipes, chemical cleaning agents and surgical supplies.
By last Monday, Feldheim was operating from his Brooklyn home, offering to push surgical gowns to a nurse, the feds said.
Two days later, the suspected hoarder received a gigantic shipment at his home of about eight pallets of face masks.
FBI agents then staked out his house, first noticing empty boxes of N95 masks outside.
On Sunday, they said they witnessed “multiple instances” of people approaching Feldheim’s residence and walking away with what appeared to be medical supplies.
The agents confronted Feldheim outside his house, keeping a safe social distance over coronavirus fears.
“When the agents were within four to five feet of him, Feldheim allegedly coughed in their direction without covering his mouth,” the US attorney’s release said. “At that point, Feldheim told the FBI agents that that he had the Coronavirus,” the statement said.
Feldheim then allegedly lied to FBI agents regarding his possession and sale of medical supplies.
He falsely told the agents that he worked for a company that bought and sold PPE and that he never took physical custody of the materials.
Following Feldheim’s arrest, the FBI on Monday night raided a warehouse on Pennsylvania Avenue in an industrial section of Linden, NJ, that housed Feldhim’s suspected stash of 80,000 masks, a source said.
Mask-wearing agents and other workers placed the eight pallets of medical supplies into a box truck.
