I just read this article and it seems like a promising product but wow is it expensive as hell. Not to mention many of them can’t be used in NYS because i think NYS requires 4, 5, or 6 shot for Turkey.

Literally custom made to order ammo.
But even the stock TSS stuff is pricey. I ordered in a few boxes for someone and ouch to the price tag

Manner of Taking

• You must carry your hunting license and turkey permit while you hunt.
• You may hunt with a bow or crossbow.
  • You may not hunt turkey with a crossbow in the fall in the Northern Zone if you are using dogs.
• You may hunt with a shotgun or handgun only when using shot no larger than #2 and no smaller than #8.
• You may use a muzzleloading shotgun.
• You may not take a turkey with a rifle, or with a handgun firing a bullet.
• You may not hunt with a dog during the spring season. You may hunt with a dog during the fall season.
• You may not use bait to hunt turkey.
• You may not use an electronic calling or amplifying device to locate or hunt turkeys during the open season.

Tungsten is about 10 times harder than 18K Gold, 5 times harder than tool steel, and 4 times harder than titanium. Tungsten measures between 8 and 9 on the Mohs hardness scale. .

how is that barrel gunna hold up ?? or you going to need a new one for this load ?

Modern shotguns aren't blunderbusses. The shot cup or wadding keeps the shot from touching your barrel (for the most part) until exit. I'd be more worried about your teeth if you miss one when cleaning. Anyone run a metal detector over their game before cooking?

I know .. i reload .. but why do they say you need a special barrel for steel shot ?? no wad cup in it ?

Because you can sell more barrels that way ?

Seriously though, the steel will behave differently as it passes through the choke, this has to do with the fact that it is much much more elastic than lead and not the hardness directly.

Drop some steel shot and lead shot onto a hard surface and you'll see the difference in how they bounce.
